While vehicles aren't the most important aspect of Warzone, they're certainly a useful tool for rotations and hunting down enemies across the map.
However, compared to the OG Warzone, WZ2's vehicles are utilised significantly less by competitors and often feel like an afterthought.
With the move to Al Mazrah and now Urzikstan, the devs made major changes to handling and the way vehicles are controlled. Well, according to fans, they now "handle like bricks" and feel "awful" to use, meaning the majority of competitors avoid them "at all costs."
CoD fans slam Warzone vehicles for being "boring as hell"
Taking to the CoDWarzone subreddit, user Slight_East_4991 decided to voice their frustration over how "useless" vehicles are when compared to those on the OG Verdansk and even Caldera.
The majority of fans in the thread agree, arguing the devs made "changes to something that did not need fixing," and now, the trucks "handle like bricks."
"Vehicles are boring as hell and terrible to use, they ruined the vehicle aspect of the game," said one user, with another claiming, "Yeah they feel so slow and clunky now."
Of course, the reason these changes were implemented was due to vehicles being unbelievably strong in the OG Warzone. The exit and taking off speed meant you could zoom around the map farming kills, but in the eyes of the community, the devs clearly took the nerfs a little too far.
Warzone fans claim they "avoid choppers at all costs"
By a long way, the chopper was hit hardest by the nerfs, and that's obvious due to how few players use them anymore, especially when compared to the Verdansk days. It's got to the point where they feel so sluggish, that competitors actively go out of their way to avoid them.
"The Heli is useless, watching old videos of people looting the Heli hurts me, so quick to take off and land, now it’s 5 business days," said one user, with another claiming, "I avoid choppers at all costs, it’s so easy to get beamed out of one."
The WZ2 vehicle changes may have been beneficial to the overall flow of a match, but it's clear some competitors miss the OG chopper and the chaos of driving around at full speed, racking up countless kills.
Unfortunately, it's unlikely those days will ever return. Even if Verdansk does eventually come back, the vehicles won't be the same - so it may not recapture the magic of the original.
