Warzone Players Think Theyve Found Fortunes Keep In Real-Life
We've always known that Rebirth Island is a scarily accurate rendition of Alcatraz Prison and that Verdansk was loosely based on the Ukrainian city of Kyiv, but with Fortune's Keep now entering the fold, fans have begun trying to identify where the landscape draws inspiration from.
With a medieval twist on a modern stoney village, Fortune's Keep is beautiful. With strawberry-topped roofs swimming on the beach-side cliff, the real location of Fortune's Keep would happily make for a lovely retreat rather than a battleground, although it's yet to be revealed where Raven Software based the realm on, if anywhere.
Now, fans believe that they have found the IRL location of Warzone's Fortune's Keep, and have taken to spread that message across Reddit.
Warzone's Fortune's Keep IRL Location Has Been 'Found'
According to one fan on Reddit, they believe that Fortune's Keep is based on the Italian town of Cinque Terre, having shared an image of a similarly designed landscape.
"I was in Cinque Terre in June," said another fan. "When I first played fortunes keep, I immediately thought about Cinque Terre. Fortunes keep is 100% based on small Italian towns."
Located in the North West of Italy on the coast, Cinque Terre is located in the town of Vernazza, where the stone buildings are rife and the colourful paint draws eyes to other monuments like a lighthouse tower and apex keep.
Is Fortune's Keep Based On Cinque Terre, Vernazza?
There are some alarming similarities, given that Fortune's Keep has equally bright houses and a headland church keep.
The biggest contrast between the two locations is the layout of the towns. While it's easy to say that the seaside resort boasts many features of Fortune's Keep, there are obvious landscape differences, and it's safe to assume that the Italian town doesn't have a grotto in its centre.
Yet again, Verdansk wasn't a straight rip-off of Kyiv like Rebirth Island is with Alcatraz, and has merely adapted the City to become a makeshift battle royale map.
Maybe Cinque Terre is actually the completed puzzle of Rebirth Island that mismatched the pieces to suit Call of Duty gunplay. Or maybe not.
