Well-known Counter-Strike skin trader St4ck was hit with a community ban on Steam, though was subsequently unbanned 16 hours later.

The reason for St4ck’s ban is unknown, however thanks to his divisive personality and alleged past as a scammer, many members of the community were not sad to see that he was banned.

St4ck was banned, and subsequently unbanned by Valve

On 4 October, St4ck was banned on Steam, though the reason for the ban is currently unknown.

The CS skin trader rose to popularity for their regularly hosted giveaways on the platform, and has since gained notoriety for having the highest ever Steam level of 5001.

According to Pricempire, St4ck’s Steam inventory is valued at approximately $1.45 million. Some notable items include a Souvenir Factory New AWP Dragon Lore valued at $411K, five Katowice 2014 foil stickers which are valued at $91K, and seven additional pages of guns, knives and stickers valued between $100 and $70K.

The ban was confirmed to be a community ban and not a VAC ban. This means that it was likely triggered by a breach of Steam’s terms of service and would prevent St4ck from accessing his $1.5 million inventory

Only 16 hours after the ban was implemented, St4ck was unbanned by Valve and regained access to his huge inventory

Many people have speculated on why St4ck was banned

Despite no official reason for the ban being released, many people have come forward to speculate on why it happened.

St4ck is not the most well-liked figure online, and has become quite controversial after he was accused of scamming people out of money for Steam cards.

Allegedly, St4ck scammed multiple Steam users out of $30K+ worth of Steam cards to increase his level by unlocking badges. There are several videos posted online which cover the scamming allegations, including a video by TDM_Heyzeus.

One of the most popular rumours regarding the reason for the ban is that he may have left comments which breached terms of service on Steam profiles.

Twitter user anomaly, said: “St4ck just got community banned on Steam. Over $1,600,000 USD inventory. I’m guessing most likely just due to comments..? This is one of the biggest community bans that has ever happened, if not the biggest.”

Some people think the scamming may have triggered the ban, and others have suggested that he may have been caught selling CS skins for real money, which would go against Steam’s TOS.
