Apex Legends Season 17 arrives on May 9 and one of the most exciting aspects of the patch is the update to the World's Edge map.

For a long time, the community has been calling on Respawn to rework the polarising Fragment POI and finally, the devs have revealed all the details of the changes.

With brand new POIs, improved loot, and significant traversal changes, let's check out all of the plans for the World's Edge map update in Season 17.

All World's Edge changes coming in Apex Legends Season 17

The biggest change coming to World's Edge is the replacement of Fragment with the new Monument POI. Instead of large skyscrapers, the new area contains a museum that celebrates Apex’s past, present, and future with multiple exhibits.

Built into the ground, the main Monument building is more of a deeper bunker that also offers access to a sniper nest. The location is also packed with loot, so they'll be plenty of action taking place at the revamped POI.

While Fragment in name has gone, Respawn has kept a piece of the famous area in the new Stacks POI located on the southern edge of the map next to Big Maude.

Containing the same large buildings as Fragment, Stacks is all about verticality and the enclosed spaces will definitely lead to countless chaotic gunfights. Not only that, the Construction Stack is staying as well, so fans of zipline movement and outplays will want to head to Stacks,

The last major change is that Respawn has completely removed vertical updraft from the map. This floaty state is triggered when your character accidentally falls into the deep laval pits.

Don't worry though, falling into these crevises will not result in a guaranteed death now. Instead, the devs have raised the lava floor so it's now walkable, but be warned, it will burn you.

Finally, Skyhook is now covered in snow and there's a new vault nearby so if you find a key, it's definitely worth heading over to grab the top-tier loot.

So, there you have it, that's all the changes coming to World's Edge in Apex Legends Season 17. If you're looking for a recap on everything coming in Arsenal, check out our dedicated hub.
