Vanguard has a new moniker to enjoy, as players crown the worst Call of Duty map ever from inside from Sledgehammer Games' maligned 2021 title.

Vanguard isn't exactly the most popular game in the Call of Duty franchise. That much we've gauged so far from fan reactions, at least. But does it really contain the worst Call of Duty map of all time?
Though the Vanguard player base is fairly healthy for this stage in its life, a lot of fans have given up on the WWII gamer - bored with its lack of innovation and failure to reveal anything particularly exciting with its upkeep updates.
It's a shame that the game - which does have some merits - falls in the estimation of long-time fans. It has now earned a less than desirable moniker because it's apparently home to the worst map in franchise history
What Is The Worst Call Of Duty Map Ever?
According to fans on the Call of Duty subreddit, they think that the map Sub Pens isn't just the worst that the game has to offer, but they seem to think it could be the worst Call of Duty map in the history of the franchise. Ouch.
A new post in the subreddit asks, "Am I insane or is Vanguard's Sub Pens literally the most awful map ever??" Others have been quick to defend the claim. Maybe it's to do with that glitch that lets you camp easy kills in Sub Pens.
"I hate that map so so much," says one fan, with supporters quick to rally around the fact that the map simply feels wrong to play on. "This map just feels like it is sideways," says another user. "Idk how else to describe it lol but yeah it sucks."
Is Sub Pens Really The Worst Call Of Duty Map Ever?
Sub Pens isn't exactly one of the best, or most memorable maps that the Call of Duty franchise has ever had, but it probably isn't one of the very worst. We think it's suffering from something of a recency bias with the idea of having the worst Call of Duty map.
When considering the likes of Ghosts' Stonehaven, Black Ops' Crisis, and Infinite Warfare's Genesis, there are certainly shoddier maps out there. Even though Sub Pens lends itself to cheap longshots, there's still a little fun to be had with the different environments peppered through the map.
No matter what we think, the people have spoken. For the time being, Sub Pens has been deemed the very worst of the franchise. To be honest, it's not a very good look for Vanguard at a time it could do with a little support.
