A brand-new Xbox Game Pass leak suggests that there will be a friends and family plan released soon, allowing multiple players to use the account at once.
Xbox Game Pass has been doing very well for Microsoft, which has even forced their game industry rivals Sony to create their own version for the PlayStation.
With the success of the subscription service, Microsoft have been looking at new subscriptions plans for users, and a new leak suggests that their next plan will be called Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family.
What Is Xbox Game Pass Friends And Family?
Earlier in August, Microsoft began to test a family plan version of Xbox Game Pass in Ireland and Colombia, and now a Twitter leaker by the name of Aggiornamenti Lumia has leaked a potential new logo for the alternate plan. The picture shows the standard Game Pass emblem with the words "Friends & Family" below, and suggests that Microsoft are creating a brand-new plan for players who want to share their account with others.
The current family plan that's being trialled doesn't officially exclude players from sharing games with people outside their immediate family, but many people assumed that the wider release would restrict this, like with Netflix and Spotify family subscriptions. The only restrictions on this trial version are that other users must be in the same country as the owner. It's likely that this detail will continue into the commercial Friends & Family plan too.
What Are The Current Xbox Game Pass Subscription Plans?
There are currently three versions of Game Pass available for players, though two of them are functionally the same. PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass both cost £7.99 per month and give you access to the full library - though PC players have access to more titles. The other option is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which lets you access the console and PC versions, EA Play, and online multiplayer for all the titles in the library.
There's no news on whether Friends & Family will have two tiers for console and PC, but it will likely be the most expensive offering for the subscription service.
