As InnerSloth's Among Us continues to grow, the cosmic social deduction game has just massively boosted the number of players you can try and murder in the depths of outer space.

While the game is normally played with between four and ten players, a new mod has multiplied that to include up to 100 players. There are currently 12 colours supported in Among Us, suggesting that we could at least expand the player count to 12.

InnerSloth has sadly axed plans for Among Us 2, meaning the three-person team is heading back to the drawing board and making sure it's focussing all its efforts on the OG game. With promises the first game will continue to evolve, fans are obviously questioning what's next for Among Us and what else will be added.

Although the devs haven't actively said they'll increase the number of players, the mod shows how it could work. Safe to say, 100 players might be a few too many.

How to play Among Us with 100 players

The Among Us 100 player mod was created by Socksfor1. Enjoying the party is as simple as joining the Socksfor1 Discord. Alternatively, you can just download the mod here. Be warned though, there is a condition if you want to be part of a 100-player match. You'll need to reach at least Level 5 in the Discord, which will unlock special access and a tutorial on how to play.

To install the mod, follow the below steps:

  • Open Steam and right-click Among Us
  • Click Manage and Browse Local Files
  • Copy the "CodeIsNotAmongUs" zip file into the Among Us folder

Should you download the 100-player Among Us mod?

Playing such a large match leads to obvious problems. Instead of a tense and tight-knit game of deduction, the mod means crowds of Crewmates run the halls while Imposters off them in broad daylight. It's a bit of mess, but we've got to admit, we kind of love it. If the ratio stays at 20% like in most standard matches, that means there are around 20 murderous menaces running around this bumbling bloodbath.

It's all well and good downloading a 100-player mod to up the fun of Among Us, but there are some drawbacks. Downloading the mod can ruin the base experience and litter the game with bugs. To get rid of any bugs, you'll have to completely uninstall the game and reinstall to fix it.

Given that there are millions of us still playing Among Us, playing matches with 100 players is one way to ease the strain on servers. Well, that or blow them up. Either way, get ready for some outer space chaos if you fancy playing Among Us with 100 players.
