The Pokemon series seems excited to look to the future as the era of Scarlet & Violet comes to a close with its DLC arc finding its end, but yet again, players are now looking to the past.

It might have made The Pokemon Company a lot of money, but now the teams behind the franchise have to contend with the fact that the outpouring of remakes of classic games has only led to fans calling for more returning classics over new experiences.

That same call extends to Pokemon Black & White, which are a couple of handheld titles that remain in quiet esteem. Luckily though, it looks like we don't need to wait for The Pokemon Company to drag its heels to return to Unova.

Pokemon Black & White gets an Unreal Engine 5 makeover

Out of the blue, one creator has provided us with a return to the Pokemon region we've arguably seen the least of in recent years, and it's incredibly impressive.

ArcSin Jesse has revealed a collection of demos that allow the player to poke around in the world of Pokemon Black & White - but with the key difference being that it's all rendered in 3D and uses the impressive tech in Unreal Engine.

The demo is playable on Windows OS, and it allows players to wander around N's Castle, battle N, and even catch Zekrom. There's a lot packed into the build, and it indicates that it'd take a hell of a lot of work to make this happen officially. Excitingly, it doesn't end there.

ArcSin Jesse has worked on a lot of demos

Not only has the creator helped to develop rebuilt snapshots of Arcane, League of Legends, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in UE5, but they've also developed a demo of the Diamond and Pearl games, titled Pokemon: Sinnoh Remade.

ArcSin Jesse has a pretty strong back catalogue of games that's well worth taking a look at - especially if you're a Pokemon fan. Hoping this flies under the radar of Nintendo and The Pokemon Company's notorious reputation for pulling fan projects, the UE5 remakes will tide us over until the real Black & White remakes.
