How to find the crossbow in Alan Wake 2
The crossbow is a key weapon you can unlock in Alan Wake 2, but you’ll need to find the crossbow code first if you’re going to get it, so we’ve got it here for you.
There’s an assortment of different weapons in Alan Wake 2, but you’re going to need a special code if you want to get your hands on the crossbow in the game – so we’re going to break it down for you, from location to solution.
If you’re playing Alan Wake 2 on the higher difficulties, you’re going to need to have a full arsenal of weapons, especially if you’re going up against bosses like Nightingale early on, so having the crossbow code is going to help you that little bit more.
So, read on to find out the crossbow code in Alan Wake 2, from the location of the weapon itself to the solution to the lock keeping it in its box.
Where is the crossbow in Alan Wake 2?
Before you get the crossbow code, you’ll need to know where it is, and it's in the town of Watery over in the North of the map near a Break Room (which we’ve kindly marked above for you).
You’ll find a cult stash just outside the cabin which, similar to the shotgun, is locked by a coded padlock. This is where you’ll find the crossbow.
Keep in mind that you won't be able to access this until you reach the "Local Girl" chapter as Saga Anderson.
How to solve the crossbow code
The solution for the crossbow code in Alan Wake 2 can be found in the shooting range next to the crossbow stash itself.
Some of the numbered targets have bolts sticking out of them, which is your indication of what the code should be:
- Target 5 has 1 bolt
- Target 2 has 2 bolts
- Target 7 has 3 bolts
So, assuming the number of bolts indicates the sequence the numbers need to be entered, the code you’ll need for the crossbow is 527.
Alongside the crossbow, you’ll get the "Greatest Hits" trophy, one of several achievements in Alan Wake 2 that you can collect.
Before you leave, be sure to pick up the bolts that helped you with the code. They’ll be far more useful in taking down The Taken.
With that, you have everything you need to get the crossbow and solve the crossbow code in Alan Wake 2. You should also check out who Mr Door or Sam Lake are in Alan Wake 2, as they have some very interesting stories in the game.
