Apex Legends Kings Canyon is getting a makeover in Season 14: Hunted. Apex Legends' very-first map has been the target of criticism over the years, but the changes coming in Season 14 look to address the most common complaints about Kings Canyon. With that said, let's take a look at what's new with Apex Legends Kings Canyon in Season 14.

Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 14: Skull Town Returns As Relic

Perhaps the most iconic point of interest (POI) in all of Apex Legends, Skull Town, has emerged from its watery grave and been reborn again as Relic.

Skull Town was destroyed by Apex Legends Loba back in Season 5, but it returns anew under a different name in Season 14. From the looks of things, Relic and the original Skull Town share a similar layout and appearance, but obviously, there are some differences both architecturally and aesthetically.

Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 14: The Cage Loses Its Upper Half

The passage of time has not treated The Cage well. In Apex Legends Season 14, the top couple levels of The Cage have been decimated almost entirely. With these fenced-in portions gone, The Cage doesn't really resemble a cage anymore, but a desolate structure with almost nothing in the way of cover.

Taking into account The Cage's central position on Kings Canyon, The Cage now serves more as a vantage point for scouting and less as a fortified location to post up at and defend with Wattson fences, Caustic gas traps, and sniper rifles.

Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 14: Fewer Jump Towers

Jump Towers on Season 14's Reforged Kings Canyon have undergone a major overhaul. In the previous iteration of Kings Canyon, Jump Towers were scattered relatively evenly across the whole map. In Season 14, Jump Towers on Kings Canyon exist strictly around the edges of the island — the central ones are gone.

The idea behind this change is to incentivise players to spread out and also lessen the prevalence of third parties on Kings Canyon. Players landing on the remote edges of Kings Canyon still have Jump Towers to work with, but anyone that opts to drop hot at a central POI will now have to rotate on foot. And when The Ring forces everyone in, you shouldn't have as many enemies soaring down on top of you, thanks to the lack of available Jump Towers.

Apex Legends Kings Canyon Season 14: Choke Point Changes

Along with all the major changes listed above, the overall layout of Kings Canyon has undergone some transformations — particularly in the centre of the island. Various choke points have been closed off, while other new passageways have formed. In the end, the hope is that these modifications will help improve the flow of Kings Canyon.

Apex Legends Season 14's Reforged Kings Canyon might not look much different on the surface with new POIs and aesthetic alterations galore, but these minor revamps should result in monumental improvements to the gameplay on Kings Canyon.

See for yourself what's new with Kings Canyon when Apex Legends Season 14: Hunted goes live on August 9, 2022.

Apex Legends Vantage is Season 14's brand-new legend.
