To unlock the What A Trip trophy in Astro Bot, you’ll need to defeat seven enemies with a Tripcaster.

I found this to be quite a confusing one, as the wording implies you need to use a piece of equipment or gadget to complete this challenge - but that’s not the case.

Instead, you’ll need to wait until you get to the Machine Learning level of the Feather Cluster and use a piece of environment to complete the challenge. Here’s how it all works out.

How to defeat enemies with the Tripcaster

There’s one very specific spot in Machine Learning where you can unlock this trophy. Progress through the level until you start seeing pink electrified wires suspended across the floor. These are Tripcasters, a replica of Aloy’s gadget from the Horizon games.

Eventually, you’ll come across some Tripcaster wires set up with three emerging from a central point. You’ll also spot that there are seven enemies here - how convenient!

To unlock the What A Trip trophy, you’ll need to get all seven enemies to walk into the Tripcaster wires. They won’t do it themselves, though, and you’ll need to mess with them a little first.

Jump over the wires so that the enemies start to follow you, and then keep jumping over the wires until they run into them.

The main thing to be aware of is your laser legs. Don't use a double jump when traversing over the Tripcaster wires, as your lasers will cut and disable them. It's not the end of the world if you cut one or two, but if you destroy all three then you won't be able to get the trophy.

There are also exactly seven enemies in this area, and you can’t afford to defeat one of them with a double jump accidentally. If you do end up killing an enemy yourself, I recommend hitting the Tripcaster wire yourself as it will send you back to a checkpoint right before the same area.

Once you’ve baited all seven of the enemies into the Tripcaster wires, you’ll see the What A Trip trophy pop in the corner of your screen. Congratulations, you’re one step closer to earning the coveted Platinum.
