How to get an Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
You'll definitely want to get your own Ikran mount in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and this guide will explain exactly how you can get it in the game.
Getting your very own Ikran is a very important step in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It’s one of your best means of traversal in the game, but you won’t get your hands on one until later.
I was anxiously awaiting the quest where I’d get my Ikran and had to play for quite a while before I got one. Once I did though, it was pretty amazing to finally be able to fly across the open world.
So without further ado, here’s how to get your own Ikran so you can fly through the skies of Pandora.
How to get an Ikran in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
You’ll get your Ikran in the Take Flight quest. This is a main quest that you’ll unlock midway through the quests for the Aranahe tribe.
Once you’ve progressed through the story and reached Take Flight, you’ll be tasked with going to the Ikran Rookery. Follow the waypoint or navigate there with the map and rest at the campfire to pass the time if Nefika and Eetu aren’t there yet.
Once you’ve watched the cutscene with Nefika and Eetu, climb the Ikran rookery. You’ll have to ascend up the path to the top to claim your own Ikran.
The path has different challenges for you, including doors that can only be opened by following the roots and shooting the smaller leaves to open it. You’ll also have to do some parkour, climb vines and use bouncy platforms to reach certain areas.
How to tame the Ikran
Once you reach the top of the rookery, it’s time to tame your Ikran.
When you approach the game will prompt you to hold down a button//key to soothe the Ikran. Hold it down and slowly walk towards the Ikran. If you mess it up, just back off and then go back when you see the button prompt again.
If you do it right the Ikran will be yours to bond with. You can then give it a name and decide which colours you want it to have. I chose red and called it Fury, because I’m an edgelord.
After that, you’re free to roam the skies with your Ikran. You can feed it, fire your weapons from atop it and use it to glide or dive through the air. You can call your Ikran to your side with up on the D-pad, and you can even call it in the air to get caught before you hit the ground.
