SID is a very helpful tool in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. You can use it to hack turrets so you can sneak through outposts, and it’s required for many main and side quests.

I’ll show you how to use SID in this guide if you’re not sure how to do it in the game. It’s pretty simple when you get the hang of it, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble for you to figure out.

How to equip SID and start hacking

Hacking with SID in Frontiers of Pandora.

To bring out SID you need to hold LB + Y, or if you’re on PC you can press the number 5 to equip it. This might be different if you’ve changed your key bindings.

Then, simply aim SID at whatever you want to hack. You should see the outline/circuit which you can follow towards your hacking target, but if you’re hacking something like a turret you’ll just need to aim it at the turret to be able to start the hacking minigame.

While aiming SID at your hacking target, lightly hold RT until the circles are aligned. On PC you can left-click on your target and press E or Q to increase or decrease your circle.

The hacking minigame in Frontiers of Pandora.

To hack with SID in Avatar you need to do a small minigame. This is a maze puzzle where you need to navigate towards the exit. Doing this will disable/trigger whatever you're hacking.

Sometimes these puzzles have obstacles such as electricity that you need to be patient to avoid. You might also have to find keys to open the pathway towards the exit.

You’ll be on a timer, so make sure you’re quick whenever you start hacking. Some hacking puzzles will be more elaborate than others, but you’ll usually have more time in these instances.

If you don't fancy completing these puzzles, you can skip them entirely by changing a setting in the Accessibility menu.
