Best Fire-type attackers in Pokemon GO for Raid Battles
From Reshiram to Charizard, these are the best Fire-type attackers that you'll want to use when taking on powerful Raid Bosses in Pokemon GO, including movesets.
If you're looking to incinerate your opponents in Pokemon GO, there's no better choice than a strong Fire-type Pokemon - but only the best will do when it comes to high-tier Raid Battles.
Fire-type attackers like Charizard and Blaziken are essential when taking on Bug, Grass, Ice, and Steel-type Raid Bosses, so here are some of my top recommendations based on stats, movesets, and my experience of using them in the game.
What is the best Fire-type Pokemon?
The best Fire-type attacker for Raid Battles is Reshiram with the moves Fire Fang and Fusion Flare.
There's tough competition from other Legendaries like Heatran, Moltres, and Ho-Oh, but Reshiram rises to the top with a massive Attack stat and an excellent Fire-type moveset that lets it dish out huge damage relatively quickly.
The top Fire-types in Pokemon GO listed
Here are the best Fire-type attackers you can use in Pokemon GO as well as their recommended movesets:
Pokemon | Moveset | Sprite |
Reshiram | Fire Fang & Fusion Flare
Heatran | Fire Spin & Magma Storm
Moltres | Fire Spin & Overheat
Ho-Oh | Incinerate & Sacred Fire
Blaziken | Fire Spin & Blast Burn
Darmanitan | Fire Fang & Overheat
Chandelure | Fire Spin & Overheat
Charizard | Fire Spin & Blast Burn
Volcarona | Fire Spin & Overheat |
I haven't included Mega Evolutions in the table above, as they can be difficult to obtain and aren't always accessible due to their cooldown period. However, if you do have access to them, they're always worth using over their regular non-Mega versions.
In this case, I'd recommend looking at Mega Blaziken, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Houndoom. Not only are these excellent for high-tier Raids, but they'll also boost the attacks of other Fire-types which could give you the edge you need to win.
While the list of Pokemon above is specifically tailored to Raid Battles, they'll also serve you well when taking on Team GO Rocket Grunts who have a lineup that's weak to Fire-type attacks.
If you're looking to take part in the GO Battle League instead of Raid Battles, it's a little harder to recommend Pokemon of specific types. Instead, check out our Great League, Ultra League, and Master League best teams.
