We've had the ACR, Modern Warfare 2 OG's will remember that one. We've had the HBR, Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag is still haunted by it. But, we've never had the HCR, a blend of abbreviations, and a change of scenery over to the LMG class. As a member of the AUG family or the STB 556 family tree, the best HCR 56 loadout is a natural fast-firing gun, which is unusual for a LMG and can be used as quite a solid long-range weapon.

Who remembers the AUG from Black Ops 1? The assault rifle with a nasty huge ACOG but a long-range high-powered machine that hits a punch with every single bullet. Well, that's exactly what the HCR 56 is in MW2, and the best HCR 56 loadout will quickly move this from an LMG to a long-range AR - without the horrible sight.

Speaking of sights, the barrel will change the optic, so if you'd prefer a Bore-490 muzzle instead then that's understandable, but the best place to start in the HCR 56 loadout is the Bruen Turaco 686mm barrel. This suppressed attachment will remove any muzzles but will increase bullet velocity, ADS speed, and recoil control, which is great for this build. Velocity is key with other attachments too, especially with the Ammunition slot. Then, some solid recoil control in the rear grip and stock will help tame this fast-firing beast.

  • Barrel - Bruen Turaco 686mm
  • Underbarrel - FTAC Tiger Grip
  • Ammunition - 5.56 High Velocity
  • Rear Grip - FTAC C11 Riser
  • Stock - Bruen STB 556

While you don't need to have that usual sluggish feeling with an LMG this year, especially with the best HCR 56 loadout in hand, Double Time is still a necessity. As is a pistol, a stun grenade, a semtex, and Dead Silence all of which will be handy for rotating and moving to another power position.

Bomb Squad or Battle Hardened is a straight 50/50 but the new Drill Charge might sway your hand in favour of explosive protection. Focus and Ghost make up the final two perk slots, making for hidden movements and added strength in head-on gunfights.

  • Secondary - Side Impact
  • Tactical - Stun
  • Lethal - Frag
  • Perk 1 - Double Time & Bomb Squad
  • Perk 2 - Focus
  • Perk 3 - Ghost
  • Field Upgrade - Dead Silence

The HCR 56 isn't quite going to propel you to be the best player in the world, but when it comes to that mastery camo grind, at least you'll have a great gun that won't be left too far behind the meta.
