Trainers are back wondering what the best Hisuian Typhlosion counters are with the return of the 7-Star Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Amongst the Tera Raids currently running in the game, being known as "The Unrivaled" bearing the Mightiest Mark is easy to make players wonder just how to beat Hisuian Typhlosion.

Thankfully, we've got all you need here. Read on for the best Hisuian Typhlosion counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet with their full builds.

What is the best Pokemon to beat Hisuian Typhlosion?

After seeing it absolutely destroy Hisuian Typhlosion numerous times in the first round, I can safely say that Daschbun is the best counter you'll want to take with you to beat the 7-Star Tera Raid in its second outing.

Dachsbun, the best counter to beat 7-Star Hisuian Typhlosion in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The best Hisuian Typhosion Tera Raid build for your Dachsbun is as follows:

  • Ability: Well-Baked Body
  • Nature: Impish
  • Tera Type: Fighting
  • Hold Item: Metronome
  • EVs: 252 Def, 252 Sp. Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Body Press, Misty Terrain, Rain Dance, Snarl

Snarl and Rain Dance are there as backups if you ever need to nerf Typhlosion's moves to preserve your Raid party, but Body Press and Misty Terrain are all you'll really need.

With Well-Baked Body making it immune to Hisuian Typhosion's Flamethrower and Will-O-Wisp, Dachsbun's ability also boosts its Defense by two stages. This works beautifully in combination with Body Press - using that Defense stat to determine offensive damage instead of Attack.

Adding a third layer into the combo, Dachsbun's held Metronome will boost the power of Body Press by 20% with every consecutive use (up to 100%).

As long as you first use Misty Terrain to protect your allies from Burns for five turns, just chaining uses of Body Press with Dachsbun's fully EV'd Defensive stats make it the ultimate anti-Typhlosion cannon.

Other top counters for Hisuian Typhlosion in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Vaporeon

The Water-type Eevee evolution, Vaporeon, is one of the best counters to Hisuain Typhlosion for a variety of reasons: from its typing and ability to natural capabilities in both offense and defense

Vaporeon, the first of the best Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid counters

The best Vaporeon build and moveset to use against Hisuain Typhlosion is as follows:

  • Ability: Hydration
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Water
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Sp. Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Calm Mind, Fake Tears, Rain Dance, Surf

The biggest concern with Hisuian Typhlosion's moveset is its combo of Will-O-Wisp and Infernal Parade, the latter inflicting double the damage thanks to the former inflicting a Burn - of which Vaporeon counters entirely with using Rain Dance alongside its Hydration ability to nullify it.

By combining the uses of both Calm Mind and Fake Tears as well, Vaporeon can easily buff both its Sp. Atk and Sp. Def whilst debuffing Typhlosion the Unrivaled's Sp. Def. By eventually following up with Surf, an already powerful super-effective Water-type move, you'll have beaten the Typhlosion Tera Raid in no time.

Goodra

In contrast to Vaporeon, Goodra is another powerfully bulky Pokemon that will factor in some support for your raid party members into its moveset as well.

Vaporeon, the second of the best Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid counters

Here's how we'd recommend to build Goodra in the fight against Hisuian Typhlosion:

  • Ability: Hydration
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Water
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Sp. Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Acid Spray, Life Dew, Rain Dance, Surf

Like Vaporeon, this Goodra build combos Rain Dance and the Hydration ability to nullify Burns from Typhlosions Will-O-Wisp whilst also boosting the damage you'll inflict from using Surf. Along with Acid Spray to lower Typhlosion's Sp. Def by two stages with each use.

Life Dew will recover both 25% of Goodra's own HP and those of your allies as well - letting you give your whole party some extra longevity whilst debuffing the Unrivaled.

Camerupt

Unexpectedly fighting fire with fire, the dual Fire-and-Ground-type Camerupt works as another one of the brilliant counters to beat the Hisuian Typhlosion thanks to the versatile range of moves it can learn.

Camerupt, the third of the best Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid counters

The best Camerupt build to against Hisuian Typhlosion the Unrivaled is as follows:

  • Ability: Anger Point/Magma Armor/Solid Rock
  • Nature: Modest
  • Tera Type: Ground
  • Hold Item: Shell Bell
  • EVs: 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Sp.Def, 4 HP
  • Moveset: Amnesia, Earth Power, Growth, Rain Dance

Not only is this Camerupt build effective by buffing up its defences with Amnesia and knocking down Typhlosion's with Earth Power, but by also using one of the boss' moves against it. Growth can already boost Camerupt's Atk and Sp. Atk by one stage, but that's doubled when Typhlosion uses Sunny Day

What's more, whilst Camerupt is immune to Burns from Will-O-Wisp thanks to its part-Fire-Typing, you can still have Rain Dance ready to use if you wish to lower the effectiveness of Typhlosion's Flamethrower against you and your allies as well.

Although Hisuian Typhlosion can be transferred from Pokemon Legends: Arceus via Pokemon HOME, beating this 7-Star boss wielding the Mightiest Mark means you'll have a competitive-level build and moveset to add to your collection.

How to find Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

You can quickly find Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raids in Pokemon Scarlett & Violet by looking for the black crystals on the map, similar to 7-Star Raids of the past like the Decidueye Tera Raid.

This Hisuian Typhlosion will have a Fire Tera Type. In this case, all you need to do is look for the Fire-type symbol on a shining black crystal on your map to spot the Raid's location.

In case you want to test any counters different from the list above, you'll also need to keep in mind the moveset this Tera Raid Boss will use:

  • Flamethrower
  • Focus Blast
  • Infernal Parade
  • Sunny Day
  • Will-O-Wisp

By lacking Solar Beam, Hisuian Typhlosion isn't as deadly a 7-Star Tera Raid Boss as it could have been. Nevertheless, the combination of Will-O-Wisp to inflict a Burn status to double the damage by Infernal Parade is still one to look out for.

Hisuian Typhlosion weaknesses in Scarlet & Violet

Although it's a dual Ghost/Fire-type Pokemon, this Hisuian Typhlosion has a Fire Tera Type which means its only weaknesses are Water, Ground, and Rock-type attacks.

With Focus Blast in Typhlosion's moveset, though, I'd personally avoid using Rock-type Pokemon to avoid any big super-effective hits that could cause faints and quickly drop your Tera Raid timer.

That's everything you need to know about the best Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.
