The 7-star Inteleon Tera Raid is back in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. If you're looking to defeat this difficult boss and catch it for yourself, here are the best Inteleon Tera Raid counters along with their full builds.
Inteleon Tera Raid in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet explained
As mentioned on the official Pokemon blog providing details about the event, the 7-star Inteleon Tera Raid can be found from Friday, 5 May to Sunday 7 May at 23:59 UTC by interacting with one of the black Tera Raid crystals that appear on the map.
Along with having an Ice Tera Type, Inteleon also has the Mightiest Mark. So, as with past 7-star Tera Raid bosses, it will be a formidable opponent.
Inteleon has a strong and varied moveset including Blizzard, Snipe Shot, Dark Pulse, Tearful Look, Mist, and Snowscape. So, you'll need to use one of the following trio of best Inteleon Tera Raid counters to defeat the mighty Sobble evolution.

Samurott
Being one of the most recent 7-star bosses, Samurott is the first among Inteleon Tera Raid counters that come to mind. If you managed to beat the Samurott Tera Raid, you'll already have the one you caught ready to use - or you can hatch and raise a new one through breeding.
The best Samurott Inteleon Tera Raid build is as follows:
- Ability: Shell Armor
- Nature: Adamant
- Tera Type: Fighting
- Hold Item: Leftovers
- EVs: 252 Atk, 252 HP, 4 Sp. Def
- Moveset: Aqua Jet, Scared Sword, Swords Dance, Soak
The main focus of the build will be around beefing up Samurott's Attack stat with Swords Dance whilst preparing to smash Inteleon with a boosted Sacred Sword - also with a STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus) if used when Terastallized.
The final two moves in this "best Inteleon Tera Raid counters" build will be used far less often, but still essential. Whilst Soak can change the type of your teammate's Pokemon to Water, giving them immunity to Inteleon's Snipe Shot and Blizzard, Aqua Jet can come in handy towards the end.
Inteleon's Speed stat is far higher than Samurott's, making it always move first. So, if the Inteleon Tera Raid boss is only on a slither of health left and the raid's time comes down to the wire, Aqua Jet as a priority move will have Samurott move first instead and potentially deliver the final blow - even more likely if its Attack has been increased by Swords Dance.
Kingambit
Although initially difficult to obtain, Kingambit is well worth the effort as one of the best Inteleon Tera Raid counters. Not only does its Dark and Steel typing offer the Bisharp evolution resistance to the boss' Ice and Dark-type attacks, but its ability makes it an absolute powerhouse.
The best Kingambit Inteleon Tera Raid build is as follows:
- Ability: Defiant
- Nature: Adamant
- Tera Type: Steel
- Hold Item: Shell Bell
- EVs: 252 Atk, 252 HP, 4 Sp. Def
- Moveset: Iron Head, Taunt, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance
Inteleon's Tearful Look attack, lowering the targets' Attack and Special Attack by one stage each, is quite the annoyance. Kingambit's Defiant ability, however, increases its Attack by two stages when having its stats initially lowered - instead turns Tearful Look in its favour.
Combined with additional Attack boosts by using Swords Dance, following up with a STAB-enhanced Iron Head not only delivers gargantuan damage but also recovers extra health with the Shell Bell. Optionally, you can also interwork Taunt if you don't want your teammates to be de-buffed or you can pair it with Sucker Punch to deliver a final blow priority move.

Goldengho
Another Steel-type that boasts resistance to Ice-type moves, Goldengho does have a caveat of also being part-Ghost-type, making it weak to Inteleon's Dark Pulse. Nevertheless, its various other capabilities outweigh that, making it the ideal Special Attacker option among the best Intelelon Tera Raid counters.
The best Goldengho Inteleon Tera Raid build is as follows:
- Ability: Good as Gold
- Nature: Modest
- Tera Type: Steel
- Hold Item: Shell Bell
- EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Sp. Def, 4 HP
- Moveset: Flash Cannon, Make It Rain, Nasty Plot, Recover
With heavy investment in both Sp. Def and Sp. Atk, Goldengho will be enough of a tank to take any Dark Pulse attacks Inteleon may use during the raid. In the meantime, Goldengho can use Nasty Plot to bolster its Sp. Atk stat, use Recover to regain any lost HP, hit with a stat increased and STAB-boosted Flash Cannon, and regain extra health with the Shell Bell.
Throughout the battle, Goldengho's exclusive Good as Gold ability also grants it immunity from Inteleon's stat-debuffing Tearful Look attack. Finally, you can use Make It Rain as your last attack to hopefully end the battle - since it lowers your Sp. Atk but it is a more powerful super-effective attack than Flash Cannon.

So, in summary, the best Inteleon Tera Raid counters are Samurott, Kingambit, and Goldengho for this Pokemon Scarlet and Violet boss.
