Best Kastov LSW MW3 loadout, attachments, class & perks
The Kastov LSW is a powerhouse LMG in MW3. Here's how you can take it to the next level.
The Kastov LSW is the latest LMG to be added to Modern Warfare 3 as part of Season 6, and if you can manage to unlock it early, it packs a serious punch. With a slow rate of fire and devastating damage potential, this is certainly a weapon to help see out MW3 in the last few weeks of its live service life.
Here’s the loadout that I found works best for this weapon, going over attachments, perks, and everything else you need to make this gun sing.
How to unlock the Kastov LSW
The Kastov LSW is unlocked by completing Sector 9 of the Season 6 Battle Pass. That means you’ll need to earn at least 20 Battle Pass Tokens if you mainline it from the start of the progression track.
I estimate that this should take you about five to six hours of gameplay if you’re playing during a Double XP weekend. Otherwise, make sure to utilise any boosters you have lying around!

Barrel: Bombast T54 Short Barrel
-
Muzzle: Quartermaster Suppressor
-
Underbarrel: Bruen Bastion Angled Grip
-
Magazine: 150 Round Mag
-
Stock: No Stock
This loadout aims to bolster your manoeuvrability while also adding some stealth capabilities to it. Removing the Stock and adding the 150-round mag means that you should be able to stay off the radar entirely, and always have ammo in the chamber ready to take on enemies that come your way.
The rest of the loadout is about bringing the recoil under control. As I mentioned, this weapon packs a serious punch, so the more shots that you’re able to land, the better. Within a few bullets, the Kastov LSW can feel like you’re melting enemies where they stand - you just need to account for the slower rate of fire.
I also found that changing your playstyle to use Tactical Stance more often than full ADS can be a real boon, as the spread is rather contained in the spray pattern. Especially on more close-quarter maps like shipment, you should find yourself able to rack up plenty of kills. God knows Season 6 has enough Shipment variants to go around…

Field Upgrade: Munitions Box
For the rest of the loadout, I’ve kept in line with trying to stay stealthy. The combination of the Covert Sneakers and the Blacklight Flashlight helps you to stay out of enemy eyelines while stalking their most recent steps. I found that I was able to catch several enemies unaware using this combination, and ended up topping the leaderboards because of it.
Moving onto the equipment, this is mostly up to personal preference. I found that the Smoke Grenade was perfect for creating a bit of cover when I needed to get out of sticky situations, and spraying back into the smoke with Tac Stance often resulted in me picking up a cheeky free kill for good measure.
With survivability in mind, the Munitions Box is always a good bet for keeping you stocked up on grenades and ammunition for your weapon.
