Black Myth: Wukong has some secrets to find off the beaten path, with chapter one containing a secret area and boss if you can locate and ring three different bells across Black Wind Mountain.

How to find the three bells

Bell 1

The first bell is located at the back of the arena where you fight Guangzhi.

You can reach this fight from the Outside the Forest Shrine. Start forward and take a left at the two enemies. Head up the path veering right and following it along to the wooden bridge with the archer.

Cross the bridge, following the path forward to the fires on either side and head under the arch into the arena to start the cutscene with Guangzhi.

After defeating him, head to the back to interact with the bell and ring it.

Bell 2

For bell two, you'll need to defeat Guangmou later in the chapter. This is a mandatory boss along the main path, so I won't provide the instructions for finding him.

Once he's been beaten, instead of heading through the arch on the right from where you enter, walk up the stone steps at the back of the arena.

At the top of this path, you can ring the bell.

Bell 3

Bell three is right after the very next mandatory boss - the Whiteclad Noble.

After defeating him, face the steps leading up to the cave, and take a left instead. Walk through the path with the narrow cliff faces, and you'll emerge in a grotto.

Defeat the enemies here first, and then you can ring the third bell to trigger a cutscene and earn an achievement.

Secret area explained

Upon ringing the last bell, you'll be transported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple, a secret area that resembles a more decayed version of the standard Guanyin Temple you visited earlier.

Inside, you can find a Shrine and a number of chests, the closest of which holds Guanyin's Prayer Beads - a piece of armour for your arm - and some resources.

Elder Jinchi boss in Black Myth: Wukong

After walking up the stairs at the back and opening the door, you'll begin an optional boss fight against Elder Jinchi.

Once you defeat him and spawn back in next to the final bell, you'll also be able to interact with the hanging wolf and acquire the Fireproof Mantle Vessel, which is a useful ability for the final boss of chapter one.
