How many chapters does Black Myth: Wukong have?
Take a look at our breakdown of how many chapters are in Black Myth: Wukong, along with a brief explanation of what they entail.
Black Myth: Wukong is a fairly long game, even for players who won't be taking on all its optional content, but how many chapters can you expect to play before the credits roll? Here's everything you need to know.
How many chapters are in the game?
There are a total of six chapters across Black Myth: Wukong, with each taking place in a unique region during The Destined One's journey westward, as they seek out the six relics to revive the Great Sage.
Here are all the names of the chapters:
- Chapter 1 - Black Cloud, Red Fire
- Chapter 2 - The Valley of Despair
- Chapter 3 - The Journey to the West
- Chapter 4 - The Great Sage Returns
- Chapter 5 - The Final Battle
- Chapter 6 - The Heart of the World
When you complete a chapter by defeating the final boss and collecting a relic, you'll automatically move to the next one after a cutscene and a chapter-end screen. However, through the use of Shrines, you can fast travel back to previously explored areas.
Revisiting the locations from old chapters gives you a chance to seek out anything you missed, and is also vital for completing some of the optional quests and defeating side bosses that aren't available until later in the game.
Not all chapters are the same length either, largely due to some taking a more linear approach (such as chapter one and three), while others are much more open-ended, like the second chapter. However, they all range from a couple of hours to around half-a-dozen.
