It appears as if the AMES 85 has emerged as the best Assault Rifle during the Black Ops 6 beta, and you can take full advantage of its power with the best loadout, attachments, and more laid out below.

Best AMES 85 loadout

  • Optic: Volzhskiy Reflex

  • Muzzle: Compensator

  • Underbarrel: Vertical Foregrip

  • Fire Mod: Rapid Fire

  • Barrel: Long Barrel

If you're looking for an all-rounder then you should definitely start with the AMES 85, as it boasts excellent mobility and handling for the perfect cocktail in Black Ops 6.

It does everything that you'd want an Assault Rifle to do, and the attachments that I've selected help enhance its overall performance by dampening the recoil and upping the fire rate.

You'll want to make sure that you've got the right Muzzle, Underbarrel, and Barrel to keep the recoil low and the damage high, but the real strength of this loadout comes from the Rapid Fire mod. This enhances the fire rate of the weapon, increasing your time to kill to the point where most enemies won't be able to react.

The two 'halves' of this loadout are essential as they complement each other, as a faster fire rate means more recoil, so you'll need the parts to counteract that. I've also opted for the Volzhskiy Reflex as an Optic as opposed to the iron sights because I find them quite hard to use, but you could swap that out for the Commando Grip or Heavy Stock if you're looking for a bit more control.

Best perks for AMES 85

  • Perk 1: Scavenger (Enforcer)

  • Perk 2: Tracker (Recon)

  • Perk 3: Guardian (Strategist)

Unlike some other builds you don't need to necessarily 'rely' on your perks to make this loadout work, as the AMES 85 is such a great all-around weapon. That's why I've picked options that are just great to have and should help you pick up more kills in the long run.

I'll never turn down Scavenger as a perk, as though it might not be the most glamorous, you'll always be thankful that you've got it when you're on those long kill streaks. It also allows you to be a bit more lax with your pre-fires, especially as we've opted for Rapid Fire.

Tracker is just great to have around, as you'll be able to see enemy footprints and foes will also be pinged when you ADS, albeit on a long cooldown. This is just a great addition to your kit, letting you know where enemies are if you want to chase them down or simply keep on top of general positioning.

Finally, I went for Guardian as it'll allow you to stay alive in the chaos of the objective. You might not always find use in this perk, but like Scavenger you'll definitely be thankful when it does come in handy, and it could be the difference maker between a win and a loss.
