What Is The Smallest Map In MW2 2022?
If you're eager for classic experience such as Rust and Shipment in Modern Warfare 2, here's the best place to recreate those moments.
Modern Warfare 2 seems to be aiming to be bigger and better this year. Its focus on Ground War and other larger-scale modes with gigantic maps to accompany them is a sign the series is moving away from its smaller offerings and hoping to reach something similar to the Battlefield series.
However, the standard multiplayer offering is there, and while classic Modern Warfare maps such as Shipment and Rust don’t appear to be included in the mix, Modern Warfare 2 does appear to still have a few close-quarters maps to sink your teeth into. If you’re looking for the smallest map to practice your skills on in Modern Warfare 2, here’s exactly which one you need to be on.

What Is The Smallest Map In MW2 2022?
At the time of writing, there are currently 10 standard multiplayer maps in Modern Warfare 2. Of course, if you jump into Ground War or similar game modes you’ll experience larger chunks of the upcoming Warzone 2.0 map, but for anyone craving a traditional experience, the map selection is 10.
Pretty much every single map available in Modern Warfare 2’s quick-play playlist ranges from mid to long-range, however, there are a few standouts for those looking to engage in more hectic firefights in smaller spaces.
Firstly, there is Mercado Las Almas. This map is set within a rural district of Mexico and forces players to play quite aggressively with its right corridors and intertwining layout in such a small space. There is still the opportunity to snipe in the main alley down the middle - something that was very tricky to do in maps such as Rust and Shipment - but for the most part, it works at being the current smallest map available.
Additionally, Border Crossing offers a similar experience, but in a slightly bigger space. The key difference here is the map being fairly thin and linear, forcing Modern Warfare 2 players to carefully manoeuvre through all abandoned traffic left on the road.
Neither of these maps offers those classic chaotic Modern Warfare engagements but are two of the more hectic in Modern Warfare 2 due to their close-quarter nature. It’s said some classic maps could be getting revived in future updates, so fingers crossed we see the return of some fan favourites.
