It's not ideal to be unsure of whether you can run a game on your platform of choice, especially a game as popular as The Sims. Luckily we're here to help, so just read on to find out whether you'll be able to play the game on your MacBook.
Can you run The Sims on a MacBook?
In short, yes, The Sims is playable on a MacBook. As long as your system is able to run the game at its minimum system requirements, you'll be able to play The Sims.
You'll need to have Mac OS X 10.13 or later, and 25GB of space on your hard drive. If you meet the minimum specifications, The Sims should run on your Mac.
Full System Requirements for The Sims on a MacBook
Here are the minimum system requirements for The Sims 4 on Mac. You'll probably need to meet these requirements if you want to play The Sims on a MacBook. I grabbed all the system requirements straight from the game's official download page so these should be up-to-date.
- OS: Mac OS X 10.13
- CPU: Intel Core 13-3225 3.5 GHz (2 cores, 4 threads) or better
- RAM: 4GB of RAM or more
- Hard Drive: 25GB of free space and 1GB additional space for saved games/custom content
- Video: Intel HD 4000 or better
You'll also need an internet connection to activate the game. If you meet all these requirements you should be good to go whether you're using an M1, M2 or Intel-based MacBook.
