How to break the Volturno Line in Company of Heroes 3
In this guide, we'll cover how to break the Volturno Line in Company of Heroes 3, which is an objective in the Italian campaign and can be tricky to navigate.
The Volturno Line are many roadblocks that you'll face in Company of Heroes 3's dynamic Italian campaign, forcing you to consistently push forward and capture more territory from the Axis powers.
So, if you need to know how you can break the Volturno Line in the game so you can claim the Volturno Breaking achievement, we've got you covered with a full explanation below.
How do you break the Volturno Line?
The objective to break the Volturno Line will appear once you have taken control of places like Naples, Pomigliano, and Foggia. You can rush to get this objective quickly, but if you take your time it will likely appear after a dozen or so hours.
The objective is pretty simple and tasks you with capturing four towns: Cancello, Caiazzo, Campobasso, and Termoli. While it seems like you need to capture each one before you can push on past this point, you will only need to take some of these regions before breaking the line and getting to the next objective.
Capturing Termoli is a big part of a future objective to capture the Adriatic Coast, so we recommend doing this as quickly as possible. As a port, it also increases your Population Cap and lets you bring in more divisions to control.
Campobasso is a strategic location in the local region, so capturing this will position you well for pushing past the Volturno Line and into the next area. It's also worth mentioning that only Caiazzo has a mission involved, while the rest will just put you into a skirmish match.
It ultimately doesn't matter which towns you take, or in which order, and you will likely grab them all anyway on your way north, as each one provides value for varying reasons.
