The latest patch for Counter-Strike 2 released last night as of writing this, bringing a series of small-to-medium changes to the game, such as a new way to attack the A bombsite on Dust II, and official London servers at last.
Check out all the changes below.
Patch overview
While it may seem small, the biggest change in this update is the modified stack of crates outside of the A bombsite on Dust II.
Attacking this site from the underpass always puts you at a big disadvantage, as you're herded down the path toward ramp and long. Players will know how tense this can be, as enemies can stand obscured by the wall and boxes on site, while you're in the open - and it led to my death many times before I could even see where the shots came from.
With this change to the crates, players can now jump up to the site without having to follow the path, giving you new options for taking or retaking a site, and surprising the enemy.
This will also affect the CT spawn, as it lets them get to A short much faster at the start of a round, no longer requiring a jump boost from a teammate.
Considering Dust II is about 25 years old at this point, it won't be long until we see the effects of this change on people's gameplay, and whether it ultimately favours the CT or T side more.
