After the success of the IEM Major in Brazil, which catapulted Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports into new realms of popularity, ESL has decided to revisit the colossal South American region once again with the next stop on the Pro Tour.
With 16 teams heading to Brazil in April 2023, ESL is looking to recapture the passion that we saw last year just as the game enters its most popular state ten years after release.
So, with the next stop on the Tour arriving quickly, here's all you need to know about IEM Brazil 2023, including the venue, teams, schedule, prize pool, and more.
IEM Brazil 2023: Venue
Following on from ESL's previous trip to Brazil, the CS:GO giants are all heading back to Rio de Janeiro, as the organiser has announced that the Jeunesse Arena will be the host stage.
Fans will remember that the Jeunesse Arena was also the venue of IEM Rio 2022 in the Champions Stage, and promises a tight-knit atmosphere filled with esports' most enthusiastic fans.
Shaun Clark, Senior Director Game Ecosystems - CS:GO at ESL FACEIT Group, said, "IEM Rio 2023 is set for an intimate atmosphere and countless memorable moments. We can’t wait to enter the Jeunesse Arena again this year and do more in, and for, the region in the future."

IEM Brazil 2023 Format
The IEM Brazil 2023 format will see teams be pitted into two groups of eight, where a double elimination bracket will allow for three teams in each group to progress into a seeded Playoff.
Group Stage
The group stage will see teams duke it out in a double-elim bracket. Firstly, the Upper Bracket finalists will both qualify for Playoffs, but the first seed will be placed straight into the semi-finals of the Playoffs, whereas the runner-up will be seeded into the Quarter Finals.
The winner of the Lower Bracket will also make the Quarter Finals, where they will face the runners-up of the opposite group.

IEM Brazil 2023 Prize Pool
Unlike the previous IEM Brazil venture, there won't be millions up for grabs. However, there is still a sizeable prize pool to be qon.
Overall, the prize pool for IEM Brazil 2023 is $250,000 with $100,000 going to the winners and the rest being divided up in increasingly plentiful sums for the next-placed teams.
The winning team will also qualify for IEM Cologne 2023.
IEM Brazil 2023 will offer redemption for the South American CS:GO region in more than one way, and builds up as one of the most exciting events of the calendar year so far.
