How To Give Gifts In Cult Of The Lamb
Giving gifts in Cult of the Lamb is an unlockable trait within the first few hours of the game. You can pick them up during your adventures outside the village and buy them from vendors. Once you've got one, talk to your most valued villager (or someone you'd like to see have more loyalty).
Now that you're speaking to them, pick the bottom right section called "Interact," which is symbolized by a speakerphone. After that, go to the bottom left and you'll see "Give Gift" which poignantly has a present to open as a symbol. We wish the followers could give us a fleece too, but you'll have to work hard for this piece of clothing instead by fulfilling side quests.

Types of Gifts in Cult of the Lamb
You'll now be given the gifts you have in your possession within a wheel. In the screenshot above, we have a Flower Necklace. Once given to a follower, it will gain their loyalty but it will also have them gain devotion faster. This would be best for the follower(s) in your group that is a priest, the person (people) bowing below the statue in the middle.
Another item you may find in Cult of the Lamb is the Natures Necklace, which has the follower who wears it retrieve more resources. This would be best on someone who collects wood or metal in the cult. We wish we could give a follower a chef's hat, so they can cook as well. At least they can help you get doctrines as you finish tasks for them.
