How To Sacrifice Followers in Cult Of The Lamb
Before you can even think of sacrificing followers, you will need to progress through the game and defeat the second boss. After this, The One Who Waits will reward you with the Sacrifice of the Flesh ritual, which is one of the Cult of the Lamb Doctrines. When you unlock it, it reads, "sacrifice a follower to grow your strength and unlock new abilities and weapons. Higher level followers will be more valuable when sacrificed."
Once it's been unlocked, you can conduct the sacrifice ritual. To do this, head to your chapel back in the home commune, and inside you will have the option to select Ritual and choose a specific one. Select Sacrifice and then choose from your list of followers. A cutscene will then begin as followers come into the chapel donning hoods, while the sacrifice will stand in the centre before being killed by a giant tentacle.
There are a few reasons to sacrifice your followers outside of just being cartoonishly evil. Firstly, it can be an extremely useful tool for getting rid of elderly followers, as when they pass away they will cause others to lose Cult of the Lamb Faith, so it's worth just killing them earlier.
Sacrificing followers with higher levels will also provide a massive boost to your Crown bar so you can earn a better upgrade quicker. Some Doctrines also benefit from sacrifices. For example, the Belief in Sacrifice Doctrine, which is part of the Afterlife category, will give your followers 20 Faith whenever another cult member is sacrificed, potentially making it a key part of your gameplay style.
That's all for our breakdown of how to sacrifice followers in Cult of the Lamb, and now you know the different reasons for sacrificing followers.
