Cult Of The Lamb Release Date
Cult of the Lamb is set to release later in the year on August 11, nearly a whole year after its reveal back at Gamescom 2021. Initially, the game was given a vague early 2022 release date before being pushed back to August. It was finally confirmed with a date recently, meaning players won't have to wait much longer before they can get started with their cult.
Cult Of The Lamb Trailers
The first trailer was the game's reveal which back in August 2021, showcasing a mix of cinematics and gameplay. It began with the protagonist (a lamb) being beheaded by some unknown organisation, before a God seemingly revives you and gives you the power to kill them. During this, you also free a bunch of other animals who begin to bow to you, marking the beginnings of the cult. Some more scenes show off the cult growing, and then it switches into gameplay which details the combat, along with some resource gathering and base building.
The next trailer was a reveal for the game's console version, and then a few months after was the release date trailer, which again combined some cinematics with more gameplay. This one seemed to show off more of the systems, with rituals, boss fights, and new weapons.
Cult Of The Lamb Gameplay
The gameplay is inspired by simulators and roguelikes, with an isometric 2D perspective. Part of the gameplay consists of you venturing out into procedurally generated areas to fight enemies and defeat other cult leaders to establish your supremacy. The combat is mostly hack n slash, with some different weapon variety and magic powers that can be expanded on as you progress through the game.
Another key part of the experience is building up your base camp where the cult resides. You can collect resources to build structures, recruit new followers, performs rituals to appease the Gods, and give sermons to strengthen the faith of your flock.
