How to get secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077
Here's a full breakdown of achieving the Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending.
Getting the Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending can be difficult, as it requires you to make consistent choices throughout the story that favour your companion, Johnny Silverhand. There are a few different endings in Cyberpunk 2077, but they are all dictated by the choices you make throughout the main story, allowing you to see the consequences of your actions play out before you.
This secret ending goes a step further by being well hidden at a certain point in the game, so if you want to see what the Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending holds for you, read on.
How to get the secret ending
A large aspect of the Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending seems to involve getting a relationship status with Johnny Silverhand above 60%, though the higher it is the better. Some people have reported that this isn't vital to gaining access to the ending, but considering we don't have a full understanding of the systems working under the hood, it's worth doing this step just in case.
It isn't too hard to manage as you just need to consistently let Johnny do what he wants throughout the game, and pick choices that make him happy. There are also some crucial points in the story where you can make choices and pick dialogue options that will improve your relationship with Johnny, turning him into a friend and ally.
One of the more important missions for this is Chippin' In, which you will access early in the game. At one point in the mission, you will arrive at a graveyard where Johnny was previously buried, and a conversation will occur where you need to choose the following options:
- [Inscribe Johnny's Initials] "Let's do something about that."
- "The Guy who Saved My Life."
- "Nah, f*cked that up too."
- "What do you want from me?"
- OK. But as second chances go, this is your last."
- "You were a real dick in the beginning."
- "When you said you let down your friends…"
- "Smasher biz really got to her."
- "Yeah, I'll call Rogue."
Continue to make choices that make Johnny Silverhand happy throughout the rest of the game, but the next key part comes during the final mission, Nocturne OP55N1. At one point you will be on a rooftop talking to Johnny, and you'll need to choose the following options:
- Choose the ending option that allows Johnny to go with Rogue.
- You will then get some dialogue options; "Could also just put all this to rest."; [Take pseudoendotrizine] I am. Do your thing, Johnny." Instead of choosing a dialogue option, just wait.
- Keep waiting for a few minutes, and Johnny will offer up an alternate option where he offers to go into Asakana alone.
Accepting this alternate offer will cause the Cyberpunk 2077 secret ending to play out. It's worth noting that you will need to be at an extremely high level for this ending due to the difficulty, and if you die once then it's game over, meaning you need to do it all in one run.
It's a rewarding mission to play through, however, and you will also gain some exclusive content that can't be earned elsewhere. If you think you may have trouble, abusing the Cyberpunk 2077 console commands will make it easier, as you can summon health and weapons out of thin air if you get in a sticky situation.
