Who is The Singularity in Dead by Daylight?

Key Art of The Singularity in Dead by Daylight

The Singularity in Dead by Daylight, also known as Hux-A7-13, is an AI gone rogue. Having been built in the distant future to help humans colonise a newly discovered planet, it soon developed a personality of its own… and found its creators inferior.

As it strove to become the perfect lifeform, it slaughtered the crew of the Toba Landing and built a body of twisted flesh and metal.

It regards human life with derision and will not rest until its pursuit for perfection is achieved, even if it means hunting down every Survivor The Entity has drawn into its Realm.

What are the Singularity’s Perks in Dead by Daylight?

As with all Killers in Dead by Daylight, The Singularity comes with three unique Perks: Genetic Limits, Forced Hesitation and Machine Learning.

These Perks, after upgrading the Killer with enough Blood Points, can be taught to other Killers so their properties can be used in an assortment of builds.

In this case, The Singularity’s Perks focus on slowing Survivors down during chases and making them think twice about completing generators:

Perk

Description

Genetic Limits

Whenever a Survivor finishes a Healing action, they suffer from the Exhausted Status Effect for up to 32 seconds

Forced Hesitation

Whenever a Survivor is put into the Dying State by any means, all other Survivors within 16 metres of them suffer from a -20% Hindered Status Effect for 10 seconds

Machine Learning

After damaging a generator, Machine Learning activates, with the next generator you damage being compromised until it's completed.

Once it's complete, you become Undetectable and gain 10% Haste for up to 30 seconds.

What is The Singularity’s power in Dead by Daylight?

The Singularity’s unique power is called Quantum Instantiation. This power allows The Singularity to fire BioPods around the map. The BioPods act as cameras that The Singularity can use to monitor the area and, when spotting a Survivor, can infect them with a Temporal Slipstream.

The Temporal Slipstream is an affliction that allows The Singularity to teleport to Survivors quickly. After teleporting, this activates an Overclock Mode for the Killer. Survivors can remove the affliction by using EMPs scattered about the map.

Lasting just under five seconds, Overclock Mode allows the Singularity to break pallets and vault windows fast, meaning it can close the gap faster than most Killers in a chase.

As you start to play as The Singularity more in DbD, you’re going to want some fun and powerful builds to feel the benefit of its unique abilities.

We’ve broken down some of our favourite best builds that will help you on the way to those four kills, along with some that will help you get a few extra rewards.

Adept Build

The Adept Build - One of the best builds for The Singularity Killer in Dead by Daylight

One of the most important builds you will likely want to try as The Singularity in Dead by Daylight is an Adept Build. With it being linked to a trophy for becoming a Merciless Killer, it allows you to learn the Killer’s new Perks.

For this build, you can only use The Singularity’s three teachable Perks, meaning you will have to use Genetic Limits, Forced Hesitation, and Machine Learning.

However, the add-ons you choose can make all the difference. For the Adept build, I recommend using a combination of the below add-ons:

Add-on

Description

Cryo Gel

Increases the Spreading Rate of Temporal Slipstream between Survivors by +25 %.

Android Arm

Increases the range within which Temporal Slipstream can spread between Survivors by +2 metres.

Foreign Plant Fibres

Reduces the duration of the Movement Speed penalty after being hit with a Pallet during Overclock Mode by +20 %.

Crew Manifest

The Auras of Survivors becoming afflicted by Temporal Slipstream from a Biopod or another Survivor are revealed to you for 8 seconds.

Increases the range within which Temporal Slipstream can spread between Survivors by +2 metres.

Once you’ve hooked your last Survivor, the coveted trophy will be yours. Now that you’re an Adept Singularity, the real fun begins.

Beginner Build

The Beginner Build in DbD, one of the best perk builds for The Singularity

If you’re just starting with The Singularity in DbD, you may want a balance of Perks and add-ons that allow to you balance generator regression with fast chases. This build will help you maintain a dynamic flow during the match.

For add-ons with this build, we recommend:

  • Cryo Gel - Slipstream spreads between Survivors faster
  • Broken Security Key - The Reboot timer when an EMP affects Biopods, is reduced by 15%

Perk

Description

Jolt (General Perk)

Downing a Survivor with a basic attack causes nearby generators to explode and start regressing.

Lethal Pursuer (The Nemesis)

Reveals the Auras of all Survivors at the start of a match and prolongs Aura reading Perks.

Scourge Hook: Floods of Rage (The Onryo)

After a Survivor has been removed from a Scourge Hook, the Auras of other Survivors are revealed.

Save the Best for Last (The Shape)

After hitting a Survivor, the attack cooldown gradually reduces.

Speedy Singularity Build

The Speedy Singularity build in Dead by Daylight

A unique property of The Singularity’s power in Dead by Daylight is its Overclock Mode. After teleporting to a Survivor, you gain a boost in speed and strength, meaning you can break pallets and vault faster, meaning you’ll be catching up with Survivors in no time at all.

For add-ons in this build, we recommend:

  • Foreign Plant Fibres - Decreases the penalty duration when stunned with a pallet after a successful Slipstream teleport.
  • Soma Family Photo - Gives 5% Haste after a successful Slipstream teleport, but decreases the Overclock duration by 50%.

Perk

Description

Bamboozle (The Clown)

Allows you to vault windows faster and block them off, meaning Survivors can’t use them.

Enduring (The Hillbilly)

Reduces the stun duration after getting hit by a pallet.

Brutal Strength (The Trapper)

Allows you to kick pallets faster.

Save The Best For Last (The Shape)

After hitting a Survivor, the attack cooldown gradually reduces.

Stealthy Singularity Build

The Stealthy Singularity build in Dead by Daylight

One of The Singularity's new Perks is Machine Learning. This Perk encourages a silent and deadly approach and can be used in tandem with other Perks to have your rogue robot become a stealthy cyborg. This build also plays with the Killer's Terror Radius, making it hard for Survivors to truly know which direction you are coming from.

For add-ons in this build, we recommend:

  • Hologram Generator - After a successful Slipstream teleport from a Biopod, the target Survivor becomes Oblivious for the next 60 seconds.
  • Hyperawareness Spray - When a Survivor is Slipstreamed, they hear the Terror Radius as if you were nearby.
Perk Description
Hex: Plaything (The Cenobite) After hooking a Survivor, a Dull Totem becomes a Hex Totem. While this Totem is active, the Survivor you hooked is Oblivious. This effect is removed once they cleanse the Totem and can only be used once.
Machine Learning (The Singularity)

After damaging a generator, Machine Learning activates, with the next generator you damage being compromised until it's completed.

Once it's complete, you become Undetectable and gain 10% Haste for up to 30 seconds

Monitor & Abuse (The Doctor)

Your Terror Radius is decreased by 8 meters when not in Chase and your field of view is widened by 13 degrees.

When in Chase, your Terror Radius increases by 8 meters.

Trails of Torment (The Executioner) After kicking a Generator, you become Undetectable until it stops regressing. This can only be triggered once every 60 seconds.
