Dead Island 2 difficulty explained
There are no difficulty settings that you can change in Dead Island 2, meaning all players play the game at the same level of difficulty. This was also the case in the original games, so it may not be a surprise for long-time fans of the Dead Island franchise.
While there are no difficulty modes for you to select, the game does have a sliding difficulty scale. This means as you become more powerful and level up, the zombies will become stronger to match, generally making the game a little tougher as time goes on.
There are also ways to make the game a little easier, but these largely come down to things like selecting the best Dead Island 2 skill cards or using the best Dead Island 2 weapon mods and perks for your melee weapons and guns.
Despite the lack of a difficulty selection, players shouldn't find the game too difficult, and it's quite lenient with its death and respawn system, or the resources you can gather throughout the experience.
That's all for our explainer of the Dead Island 2 difficulty and whether there are difficulty modes, and now you know the difficulty cannot be manually adjusted.
You can also make the game easier by collecting weapons from locked containers. So, check out all Dead Island 2 key locations so far and learn how to open the containers you find.
