Destiny 2 bright dust is yet another form of material that players may find themselves needing from time to time. Destiny 2 has materials for weapon upgrades, gear fabrication, bounty purchases and much much more, so it can be a little difficult to keep track of it all. Bright Dust is steadily becoming a pretty popular form of material currency in Destiny 2, but what is it for and how do you get Destiny 2 bright dust? Let's get into everything you need to know to earn Destiny 2 bright dust and what you'll be using it for.
- Looking for more currencies? Check out how to earn Destiny 2 legendary shards.
Destiny 2 Bright Dust: What Is Bright Dust?
Destiny 2 Bright Dust, like so many other material currencies within the game, has a very specific function, and only one place in the entire game you can actually use it. Bright Dust can be spent in the Eververse shop, which is found just to the left as you spawn into The Tower social hub.
Players know the Eververse store as the cosmetic shop where players can spend silver which is bought with real money, to equip unique ornaments, emotes, and ghost, ship, and sparrow skins. While the majority of the content is bought exclusively with silver, Destiny 2 bright dust squeaks its way into the store, and can be used to purchase the odd item.
On the bottom left of the store page when you first interact with Tess Everis (the Eververse vendor), you will see a tab titled "Bright Dust" and a days and hours counter. In this tab, eight items are sold each week, with the price being various valued amounts of bright dust. They range from legendary consumables to emotes and ghost shells. Prices can range from a couple of hundred bright dust to a few thousand.
Destiny 2 Bright Dust: How To Get Bright Dust In Destiny 2
With time limited cosmetics and consumables ready to be purchased, you'll understandably want to know how to earn bright dust in Destiny 2. The easiest ongoing way is if you are playing during the Bungie 30th Anniversary event (which introduced the Destiny 2 Magnum Opus quest). The event will allow you to collect 700 bright dust each new in-game week. Be sure to drop by our Destiny 2 weekly reset time guide, so you know when you can pick more bright dust up.
However, if you are reading after the event, or you just need more, there is another way to earn bright dust, but it is a slow process. By heading to vendors like Shaxx, Zavala, and Gambit, completing the additional and repeatable daily bounties will provide you with a small amount of Destiny 2 bright dust. You will be able to see whether the bounty will reward you with bright dust in the rewards section while you hover over it.
- If nice looking cosmetics in Destiny is your kind of thing, then you'll definitely want the Destiny 2 Thy Fearful Symmetry armour ornament.
Destiny 2 Bright Dust: How To Farm Bright Dust
If measly amounts from daily challenges aren't enough for you and you want to earn some serious bright dust doe, then weekly challenges are your best friend. One form of weekly challenge that rewards a lot of Destiny 2 bright dust are the seasonal quests. Head over to your quest tab in the directory to see which ones you may have already ticked off. If you complete 75 quests across the season you will get a hefty supply of bright dust.
Secondly, the aforementioned vendors (Zavala, Gambit, Shax) all feature weekly challenges, which you can access by hovering over their icon on The Tower map in the directory. Each vendor has three tiers, each rewarding 120 bright dust, so you can earn a total of 1080 bright dust per week from this.
Lastly, the season gives you a tonne of Destiny 2 bright dust just by playing the game. If you make your way through the entirety of the season pass, you'll be rewarded with 10,500 Destiny 2 bright dust.
That's all the ways in which you can earn Destiny 2 bright dust, so you better get to work. If you are trying to get through that season pass, check out all the info we have on Destiny 2 Witch Queen to see how much time you have left.
