Destiny 2 Calabrese is an error code many fans have been met with while logging into the game. Destiny 2 has various error codes to denote issues with the game that prevent players from playing. Calabrese is one such code, and it has been popping up quite a bit recently. Here is what you need to know about the Destiny 2 Error Code Calabrese.

Destiny 2 Calabrese: What Does It Mean

The various error codes in Destiny 2 each correspond to a different error, each one meaning a different fault is at play. Some are more severe than others, some are quite common like the Weasel error code. However, these terms don't mean much to us.

They don't exist to inform us exactly what the issue is, they simply exist so that when the error occurs, players can go to Google or the Bungie forums and talk (scream) about it. The more the team at Bungie see a particular error code mentioned, the easier it is for them to locate the problem.

Calabrese is not a particularly common error code, but it tends to blow up online every now and then. This is because Calabrese is a networking error, often encountered when there is maintenance going on in the game. During maintenance periods, Destiny 2 becomes unavailable and players are logged out of the game. While Bungie does announce when maintenance is going to happen, not everyone is aware and this can leave some players wondering why they have been booted from the game. If you get a sudden Calabrese error, this could be why.

Destiny 2 Calabrese: What To Do

A ship in orbit over Earth

The first thing you should do is check the Bungie website or their social media for any mention of maintenance or downtime. This is the likely cause of the issue. If there doesn't appear to be any maintenance scheduled, try logging back in, as this could have been a temporary drop in connection.

If you cannot log in, restarting your hardware, from your console or PC to the internet router itself, could help. The error is a networking problem, so restart anything involved with your internet connection. Connect your console or PC directly to the router with a network cable, or add Destiny 2 as an exception to your firewall, as that could also be causing the issue.

If you can log in but the error persists, you might find the game running slowly, or that progression cannot be made in quests or bounties. This means the issue is persisting, and you should probably log out of the game.

Regardless, in most cases, a Calabrese error code means there is maintenance or some kind of issue happening on the server side, and there is likely nothing to do but wait until the game is up and running again.
