Destiny 2 Chicken: How to fix
The first thing you should do is check the Bungie website or their social media for any mention of the game being offline. This is the likely cause of the issue. If there doesn't appear to be any mention of an issue, try logging back in, as this could have been a temporary drop in connection.
If you cannot log in, restarting your hardware, from your console or PC to the internet router itself, could help. The error is a connection problem, so restart anything involved with your internet connection.
If you can, connect your console or PC directly to the router with a network cable. Also, add Destiny 2 as an exception to your firewall, as that could be causing the issue. Another thing you can try is to clear your cache, this can be done on consoles in the settings as well as on Steam.
If the issue persists, then it is likely not on your end and there is nothing you can do but wait. Again, keeping an eye on social media or forums to see what people are saying is a good idea if you are chomping at the bit to get back online.
Destiny 2 Chicken: What Does It Mean
The various error codes in Destiny 2 each correspond to a different error, each one meaning a different fault is at play. Some are more severe than others, some are quite common like the Weasel error code. However, these terms don't mean much to us.
They don't exist to inform us exactly what the issue is, they simply exist so that when the error occurs, players can go to Google or the Bungie forums and talk (scream) about it. The more the team at Bungie see a particular error code mentioned, the easier it is for them to locate the problem.
Chicken is a fairly common error code, it tends to pop up every now and then. This is because Chicken is a connection error, often encountered when there is maintenance going on in the game, or if the game is unavailable for other reasons.
That is it for Destiny 2 error code Chicken, if you want to read more about the game, check out our Destiny 2 Partition guide.
