Destiny 2 Hawkmoon is one of the most popular exotic hand cannons in the game. Destiny 2 is actually the second time we have seen this gun as it appeared in the first game as well. It returned in D2 and was available by completing a questline that is unfortunately no longer available since the launch of the Witch Queen expansion. Thankfully, the weapon is still available to acquire and to learn how continue reading our Destiny 2 Hawkmoon guide.

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon: Why You Need It

Destiny 2 Hawkmoon: Why you need it

The Hawkmoon has been a popular weapon for as long as it has been in the game. It is a premium hand cannon, a great choice for both PVE and PVP. It has great stats across the board and its exotic perk, Paracausal Round, makes the final bullet in the gun do more damage based on how many kills and precision hits you have just pulled off.

In terms of important exotics to have in your collection, Hawkmoon is pretty high up there. It is so widely useful, that any hand cannon fan should be sure to have it handy.

  • Hawkmoon is not alone in getting this treatment, and it isn't the only gun to return from the edge of the abyss. The Destiny 2 Dead Man's Tale was nearly lost to us, but here is how to get it now.

When the Witch Queen expansion was released, some parts of the game were removed, "sunsetting" as Bungie calls it. One of the things that were removed was the Tangled Shore location. With it gone, related quests had to be removed and one such quest was the As The Crow Flies quest which was how players earned the Hawkmoon.

Most weapons that become unavailable have become purchasable through the exotic weapon kiosk in the tower. When Hawkmoon did not appear there, it was believed to be lost to time, at least for now. Unfortunately, some exotic weapons have been removed entirely, so Hawkmoon could have gone that way as well. Thankfully, that is not the case.

Visiting Xur, there is an extra tab in his store. Click the arrow to the right and you will find the Destiny 2 Hawkmoon available for purchase. It certainly is not cheap, it is priced as if it were in the exotic kiosk, costing 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Legendary Shards, 1 Exotic Cipher and 1 Ascendant Shard. The weapon comes with a random perk roll each week, so be sure to grab it when it has a good set.

That is everything you need to know to get yourself a Destiny 2 Hawkmoon after the Witch Queen expansion. For more on the game, why not check out our Destiny 2 Moon Knight cosplay guide.
