The Destiny 2 Lightfall release time is nearly upon us. Destiny 2's next major chapter is coming very soon, and players need to know when they can start. Release time does not necessarily equate to start time, but we can hope for the best, but we'll update this page as Destiny 2 servers invariably struggle under the weight of incoming players.
If you're looking to be at the front of the queue when the game's update drops, here is everything to know about Destiny 2 Lightfall release time.
- Get all the major details about the new expansion in our guide to Destiny 2 Lightfall release date, trailers, story and everything we know.
When Is The Destiny 2 Lightfall Release Time?
On paper, Destiny 2 Lightfall will be available to everyone who purchases it from 9 AM PST/12 PM EST/ 5 PM GMT on Tuesday, 28 February. Fans will know this as the weekly reset time, an important time for all Destiny 2 fans, and Bungie will be rolling out the Destiny 2 update 7.0.0.1 patch at that time.
Lightfall will go live simultaneously around the world, hence why it will be available at different times in different time zones. Whatever your local reset time is, that is when you can try to start Lightfall.
Try is the operative word there, as the excessive number of players attempting to play as soon as the expansion launches are all but guaranteed to create difficulties in logging in. Expect delays, likely a queue system if you try to play on Tuesday.

What Time Do Destiny 2 Servers Go Down Before Lightfall?
Ahead of Lightfall, Destiny 2 will be unavailable for 24 hours. The game is being brought offline in order to implement the new expansion and all of the new content. During this time, players will not be able to log into the game.
We have more details about the Destiny 2 Lightfall downtime, including the things you should do before the downtime begins, but the main thing to know is that the game will be unavailable from 9 AM PST/12 PM EST/ 5 PM GMT on 27 February. Be sure to get everything you need to do done by then.
That is it for Destiny 2 Lightfall's release time. For more on the game, check out our Destiny 2 Lightfall preload guide.
