Destiny 2: Lightfall expansion introduced a new type of enemy called Tormentors. They are powerful bipedal enemies who wield massive scythes and possess a wide range of attacks that can even one-shot you if you are playing Destiny 2: Lightfall on Legendary difficulty.
The Tormentors are shaping up to be one of the most difficult-to-defeat enemies, as beating them is no joke. They have a massive HP pool, take less damage if you hit them on their body, have a collection of suppressing attacks that stop you from using your ability, and much more. So, if you are struggling to defeat them keep reading our guide as we share tips that will help you take down Tormentors quickly.
How do you beat Tormentors?
To defeat the Tormentors, you must attack their weak points using precision attacks from a Bow, Fusion Rifle, or Scout Rifle while staying mobile constantly.
There are two phases in the Tormentor's fight in Destiny 2: Lightfall. In the first phase, the Tormentor's shoulders are its weak points that you must target to deal decent damage.
Keep attacking the glowing shoulders while staying mobile to avoid the Tormentor's attacks, ranging from projectile-based attacks to melee and grab attacks.
Once you deal significant damage to the Tormentors, they will enter berserk mode, which marks the beginning of the phase 2 battle. In this phase, the shoulder weak points will disappear, a new weak point will appear on the Tormentor's chest, and their body will be prone to all attacks.
Ensure you are not close to the Tormentor; keep jumping around and moving to avoid its heavy ground slam and grab attacks. That aside, you can keep attacking the chest weak point to deal serious damage or use your ability, rocket launchers, and other such weapons.
Keep an eye on the Tormentor's head, as even they can be given a finishing blow when you lower their HP by a certain amount. As soon as the circle appears, finish the Tormentor with your flashy finishing attack.
