Destiny 2 Neomuna is a brand new location coming to the game next year. Destiny 2 is taking us to Neptune for the first time, and introducing us to a hidden human civilization. Neomuna is the capital city of a pocket of humanity that has been completely unknown to us until now. Here is everything we know so far about the new destination coming in Lightfall, Destiny 2 Neomuna.
- Unfortunately, we will have to wait until the Destiny 2 Lightfall release date in order to explore Neomuna ourselves.
Destiny 2 Neomuna: The History
From what we have been told so far, Neomuna is the capital city of the people who live on Neptune. Unbeknownst to the rest of the system, This group of people have been living on Neptune for centuries. They were unaffected by the Collapse, their world wasn't destroyed by the Darkness. Somehow, these people have shielded themselves from the rest of the universe, until now.
We do not yet know much about the people that live on Neptune, only that their technology is extremely advanced. They did not face the setbacks that the rest of humanity did, so it would seem that they continued to grow and develop beyond the Golden Age uninhibited.
However, it would also seem that because they were not harmed by the Darkness, they were not given the powers of the Light, like the Guardians. This is not yet confirmed, but it seems unlikely that they would have access to the same powers as the Guardians and be a complete unknown in the galaxy.
- We won't be going to Neptune unprepared, as we will be bringing brand new powers with the Destiny 2 Strand subclass.
Destiny 2 Neomuna: How It Fits Into The Lightfall Campaign
Neomuna is the primary setting for the Lightfall campaign. Calus, now a Disciple of the Witness, has amassed a powerful new army known as the Shadow Legion. The combination of Cabal might and the power of the Darkness has given Calus more power than he has ever wielded before. His staging ground for this new offensive, for one reason or another, is Neomuna.
All we know is that somehow, Calus discovers the civilization on Neptune and invades their capital city. During the Lightfall campaign, Neomuna will be under siege by Calus' forces. His ship will bear down upon the city and his army will march the streets.
How we as Guardians join this fight is yet to be seen, but it is not the first time we have shown up on someone else's doorstep to fight their fights with them. Neomuna seems to be the first true step of the Witness onto the board, their first direct move against us. Clearly, Neomuna and Neptune are important, and we will need to defend them. Hopefully, we might make some new friends while we are there.
That is everything we know about Destiny 2 Neomuna, the new destination coming with Lightfall. For more on the game, check out our rundown of the upcoming Destiny 2 LFG system.
