Winterbite is one of the powerful new exotic weapons added with the Lightfall expansion. Destiny 2 character builds are never complete without an exotic to tie them all together. Winterbite is the first glaive in the heavy weapon slot, and a Stasis weapon to boot. Here is everything you need to know about the exotic glaive.
What is Winterbite?
As mentioned, Winterbite is a heavy exotic glaive, the first glaive in the heavy weapon slot. This brand-new Stasis weapon is breaking some new ground and could go a long way to bolster Stasis builds.
The unique ability of the weapon is its projectile. It is a large orb that travels slowly, freezing enemies as it passes. Reminiscent of the BFG from DOOM, the projectile travels through the air until it hits something and explodes.
Freezing enemies with the projectile makes for the perfect follow-up, as you move in with the glaive's melee attacks. The pairing of freezing and melee seems extremely well suited for the glaive.
How to get Winterbite
The first thing you need to do is complete the Lightfall campaign. There are minor spoilers beyond this point, nothing too specific, but be warned before you read on.
Once you have completed the campaign, talk to Nimbus to get to the Hall of Heroes. After the cutscene, speak with Quinn in the Hall of Heroes. She has a number of quests, one of which you will see is called Strider and is an exotic quest that awards the Winterbite.
You need to complete her other quests first, so work your way through those then return to her for the Winterbite quest. Unfortunately, this quest cannot be completed in a day. the second step of it involves opening Terminal Overload Key Chests in each of the three Neomuna locations.
This activity rotates daily between the three locations, so be sure to come back often to get those chests open. Beyond that, just follow the quest steps and the weapon will be yours.
