How Long To Beat
The Diablo 2 Resurrected cow level works in almost the same way as the famous level from the original game, but some tweaks have been made. Originally known as the secret cow level in Diablo 2, it's not exactly a secret anymore, because it's one of the most famous Easter eggs in gaming.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Cow level: How to unlock it
At this stage, the process remains pretty much the same as it was in Diablo 2. To start with, you will need to have obtained the Horadric Cube from Act 2 in the game. This isn't an easy task; you need to find the Horadric Scroll on the last floor of the sewers to unlock the Horadric Staff quest with Deckard Cain.
After you have completed this task, you need to have done the simple task of finishing every act in the game. The difficulty of the cow level you face is dependent on the level you have chosen to play the whole game with. Play on normal difficulty and you will face normal level cows.
One you have completed both of those tasks, it’s time to revisit Tristram. This can be done by using the Cairn Stones that you stumbled across in Act 1. Or you can take the more traditional route and travel by foot.
Once you arrive in Tristram, your aim is to head to the top north-west corner of the map. Once you have arrived there you will see a body on the floor. That is, or was, Wirt. Now it’s time to loot the poor bloke and detach his leg. You will also grab some gold as well which is a nice addition.
This leg is the only item you will need to access the cow level: place the leg inside the Horadic Cube alongside a town scroll. You can also do this using a tome if you so choose. Once both of the items have been combined inside the cube, use your transmutate action button to create a portal.
This portal allows you to visit the legendary cow level. Be warned if you have not played this before, because it is not as easy as it sounds. The cows are far from friendly and the Cow King is a beast to take down, but once you have completed it you are also allowed to visit it as many times as possible - which you were unable to do before. This is a great spot to get some good loot and is well worth a visit.
