The Druids of Diablo 4 take the wild elements and beasts of Sanctuary as their inspiration and power, drawing on them to create powerful magic. Knowing how to harness these powers into the best build is key for making the most of the character.

What is the best Druid build?

Our recommendation for a levelling build is Nature's Fury, one of the strongest and most fun-to-use passive abilities in Diablo 4.

With Nature's Fury, when you cast a Storm or Earth skill, a random skill from the other element in the same category has a 30% chance to also cast for free. With this, Druids can be constantly pumping out attacks and doing massive damage.

Nature's Fury Druid Active Skills list

Skill Skill Tree
Storm Strike (1/5) Basic
Lighting Storm (5/5) Core
Landslide (5/5) Core
Earthen Bulwark (1/5) Defensive
Blood Howl (1/5) Defensive
Poison Creeper (1/5) Companion
Petrify Ultimate

Nature's Fury has changed, and now the free skills it casts will count as both Earth and Storm skills. So for example, if you cast Lightning Storm and you get a free cast of Landslide, that Landslide will gain any passive bonuses you have for both Storm and Earth skills.

You can choose some Sprit Boons for Druid to increase the effectiveness of the build. I recommend:

  • Advantageous Beast
  • Swooping Attacks
  • Avian Wrath
  • Pack Leader
  • Calm Before the Storm

Nature's Fury item stats list

  • Critical Damage
  • Spirit on Kill

Armour

  • Spirit per Second

Legendary Aspects

Getting the right Legendary Aspects to imprint onto your Rare or Legendary gear is a key part of furthering the build. The ones I recommend are:

  • Aspect of Retaliation - Your Core Skills deal up to [25-40]% increased damage based on your amount of Fortify
  • Aspect of the Calm Breeze - Wind Shear now deals extra Poisoning damage over 4 seconds
  • Rapid Aspect - Basic Skills gain [15-30]% Attack Speed
  • Ballistic Aspect - When you have Fortify your Earth Skills gain +2 Ranks
  • Aspect of the Umbral - Restore [1-6] of your Primary Resource when you Crowd Control an enemy
  • Aspect of the Disobedience - You gain [0.4-0.7]% increased Armour for 4 seconds when you deal any forma of damage, stacking up to [25-40]%
  • Aspect of the Might - Basic Skills grant 20% Damage Reduction for [2-7] seconds
  • Aspect of the Quicksand - Damage from Earth Skills Slow enemies hit by [20-50]% for 5 seconds

Best Gems for Druids

The best gems for Druid are ideal for boosting overall damage and giving you extra resistance for more sustainability. Here are the gems I recommend:

Gem Uses
Ruby
  • Weapons: Boosts Overpower Damage
  • Armour: Increase Maximum Life
  • Jewellery: Boosts Fire Resistance
Emerald
  • Weapons: Increase Critical Strike Damage
  • Armour: Improve Dexterity
  • Jewellery: Increase Poison Resistance
Diamond
  • Weapons: Boost Ultimate Damage
  • Armour: Extra Barrier Generation
  • Jewellery: Increase Resistance to All Elements

For the slots, I recommend putting the Ruby into Armour, the Emerald into Weapons, and three Diamonds into Jewellery.

Best endgame Druid build for Season 5

The Nature's Fury Druid carries on being a force to be reckoned with in the endgame portion of Diablo 4. When the amount of enemies increases, your abilities just have more stuff to hit, as you can constantly throw ability after ability.

The Werebear is another strong build for those who like to get in closer for burst damage and make use of the animalistic side of the Druid.

Remember to invest in the Masterworks and Ancestral Tempering mechanics to improve your gear well into the endgame, and consequently, you can boost the effects and damage of your skills.

How good is the Druid in Diablo 4?

While there are certainly no bad classes in Diablo 4, the Druid is currently sat in the D-tier of our tier list. However, with every update they do seem to improve.

Two of the most improved builds for the Druid in Season 5 centre around Nature's Fury and even using Overpower with Werebear transformations.

Overpower is much stronger in Druid builds now as it scales off of your health and Fortify, which has been massively buffed. Fortify is now based on your maximum life rather than base life, meaning an overall increase in Fortify and, and turn, an increase in Overpower damage.

With several abilities and items that guarantee regular Overpower hits, building for Overpower as a Werebear is a serious contender for top-tier damage output.

Not quite gelling with the Druid as much as you hoped? Why not try one of the other build guides that we've crafted for Diablo 4's other classes:
