How Long To Beat
Diablo 4 Murmuring Obols are a curious currency used for some random drops. Diablo 4 allows players to spend this currency to get random items. Murmuring Obols can be acquired all throughout the game, and spent with some specific, shady vendors. Here is everything you need to know about Diablo 4 Obols, how to get them and where to spend them.
How to get Diablo 4 Murmuring Obols
Obols, or Murmuring Obols, can be acquired by completing World Quests or events. Events occur randomly out in the world - just by playing normally, you are almost guaranteed to stumble across a few of them.
When you have completed the World Quest, you will be given 20 Murmuring Obols for your efforts, as well as some other items. If you complete the Mastery Objective, you will be given a better reward which will contain 35 Murmuring Obols and higher-tier items.
If you are looking for them specifically, check your map. Events are marked with red circles, so if you see one, head there and complete the objective given to receive the rewards, which should include some Murmuring Obols.
There are many kinds of events, but for the most part, you will be slaying considerable amounts of demons and monsters to satisfy the objective given.
When you start playing Diablo 4, you have a maximum capacity of 505 Murmuring Obols. However, the more Renown you earn, the higher your capacity will become. This will scale up to a max capacity of 905.
Where can you find the Curiosity Vendors?
With pockets full of Murmuring Obols, you will need somewhere to spend them. This is done at a Curiosity Vendor (or Purveyor of Curiosities), one of which can be found in most major settlements.
As it is still early days we have not yet found them all, but here are the Curiosity Vendor locations we have encountered so far:
Vendor Location | Directions |
Rodyar Yelesna, northeast of the Waypoint | Beside the fireplace in the Hog's Head Inn |
Lizveth in Kyovashad, southeast of the Waypoint | In the alley north of the southeast gate, beside a large sewer grate |
The following can be purchased from the Curiosity Vendor:
- All weapons
- Cap
- Gloves
- Tunic
- Boots
- Pants
- Whispering Key
Wondering what a Whispering Key is for? Whispering Keys are used to unlock Silent Chests, which are a pretty rare item to stumble upon in Diablo 4. It’s worth keeping hold of a Key just in case you come across a chest whilst you are exploring.
That is it for our Diablo 4 Murmuring Obols guide. For all things demonic check out our Diablo homepage, and to learn more about the game, check out how to upgrade your healing potions in Diablo 4.
