How Long To Beat
While exploring Sanctuary in Diablo 4, you might encounter a side quest called The Pilgrim's Footsteps - but to complete it and obtain the associated rewards, you'll need to solve a riddle-based puzzle.
Since not everyone is an expert in solving riddles, The Pilgrim's Footsteps can be one of the most challenging quests in the game, and quite a few people are finding it hard to complete. If you're one of them, keep reading as I walk you through the entire quest.
Where to get The Pilgrim's Footsteps quest
You can get The Pilgrim's Footsteps quest in Diablo 4 by visiting the Kehjistan region and interacting with an Old Book located in the western part of this area.
Teleport to the Altar of Ruin or any other nearest waypoint you've unlocked and make your way to the location marked on the map above. Once you arrive, interact with the 'Old Book - An account of a pilgrim's journey' item.
Upon doing so, you'll be presented with the following riddle: "Walk the road of faith to a lone desert chapel. Stand at Akarat's feet, follow his example, and be rewarded."
How to complete The Pilgrim's Footsteps quest
To complete The Pilgrim's Footsteps quest in Diablo 4, you must head to the quest location, stand near the feet of Akarat's statue and use the Follow emote.
To perform the Follow emote on consoles, press the '▲' D-pad key and then the L1/LB key to switch to the emote wheel. Once there, hover over the 'Follow' emote and press the 'X' button on DualSense and 'A' on the Xbox controller. Meanwhile, PC players can press the 'E' key on their keyboard to bring up the emote wheel.
Doing so will complete the quest and reward you with a Boon of the Faithful treasure chest containing a Weak Third Eye Elixir and an Elixir of Resourcefulness. You also get the quest's completion rewards, which are 21,352 XP points and 3,080 Gold.
