You'll want to know all about the Diablo 4 Renown system, as it provides another way for players to claim special in-game rewards every season just by playing the game and partaking in activities they may already be doing.

Diablo 4 Renown system explained

The Diablo 4 Renown system is essentially a measure of your reputation in the world, and can be increased by completing specific Renown activities, which in turn earns you exclusive rewards when reaching a new tier.

It's worth noting that the Renown a player has earned resets at the end of every season, meaning you'll need to go back and do it all again, but this also comes with new rewards to claim.

How to increase Renown in Diablo 4

Increasing Renown in Diablo 4 can be done by completing specific activities in the world.

The list of Diablo 4 Renown activities is as follows:

  • Areas discovered - 5 Renown
  • Altars of Lilith - 10 Renown
  • Waypoints - 20 Renown
  • Side quests - 20 Renown
  • Side dungeons - 20 Renown
  • Strongholds - 100 Renown

Considering many of these activities are things you'll be doing naturally when playing the game, you won't need to particularly focus on increasing your Renown.

However, if you want to get it over and done with as quickly as possible, concentrating on Waypoints and Altars of Lilith around the world will net you quick returns to reach the Renown tiers.

What are the Renown rewards?

The outcome of the Diablo 4 Renown system is the most important part, and there are plenty of Renown rewards you can earn by increasing your level.

You'll need a total of 1800 Renown to complete all five tiers, giving you 15 rewards to help you out in your journey across Sanctuary.

Once you've earned enough Renown to reach a tier, you will need to enter the Region Progress menu from the map to claim them. These rewards are also locked to your account, not just your current character.

Here are the Renown tiers and rewards:

  • Tier 1 (200 Renown) - Bonus XP, 3000 gold, and one skill point.
  • Tier 2 (300 Renown) - Bonus XP, 10,000 gold, and one potion charge
  • Tier 3 (400 Renown) - Bonus XP, 25,000 gold, and one skill point
  • Tier 4 (400 Renown) - Bonus XP, 60,000 gold, and 80 Max Obols.
  • Tier 5 (500 Renown) - Bonus XP, 125,000 gold, and four Paragon Points.

That's all for our explainer of the Diablo 4 Renown system, and now you know what activities to complete to increase your Renown, along with the rewards you can claim.
