How Long To Beat
The current season of Diablo 4 has been the shortest so far, but that all leads up to a big Season 6, which coincides with the launch of the Vessel of Hatred expansion, and the massive 2.0 update.
Check out when the new season is confirmed to drop, along with the type of content you can expect to see.
Season 6 start date
Season 6 of Diablo 4 is set to begin on October 8, which is the release day of the Vessel of Hatred expansion and the 2.0 update.
Season 6 features
This new season brings a lot to the Diablo 4 experience:
Vessel of Hatred expansion
One of the big parts of this new season and its content is the Vessel of Hatred expansion. You can take part in this season without it, but aspects like the new story content, the region of Kurast, and the Spiritborn are part of the DLC.
Mercenaries and followers are also being added, which are a legacy feature from the older games. These can join you on your adventure and level up beside you, making solo play a little less lonely.
Level changes
The season brings changes to the levelling system. For one, the level cap has been reduced from 100 to 60. Max-level players will be brought down to level 50 as the old cap, with the extra ten levels part of the new progression.
Item levels are seeing similar changes as part of this, with item level 800 being the new cap for the strongest gear, which is at the Ancestral tier.
Skills & Runewords
Each class is getting a new skill to make use of, along with five new passive abilities, so you will have some new ways to play the game,
The biggest change in relation to player builds though is the Runewords system. This is a returning feature from older games that lets the player create custom spells based on different runes.
Difficulty levels
The old World Tier system is gone and replaced with eight difficulty levels: four standard and four Torment difficulties.
The standard ones are Normal, Hard, Expert, and Penitent, all of which are designed for specific levels, with a more gradual curve. For the endgame though, there is Torment 1 to 4; these tie into endgame progression and loot, with higher tier items only dropping on higher Torment levels.
Seasonal content
With all these more permanent additions above, there will also be more seasonal stuff to do for the duration of Season 6. Expect a new Seasonal Journey to take part in separate from Vessel of Hatred, along with world events, and more.
