The Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare zone event is a time-specific task where you can fight a tough boss to get an abundance of great rewards. It is not the only zone event in Diablo Immortal, but like the others, it is an excellent way to test your skills and be adequately compensated for your work. So, if you’ve heard about the Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare zone event and want to know more, look no further than our guide below.

How To Activate Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare Zone Event

Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare Activate

To activate the Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare zone event, you’ll want to first head to the Mount Zavian zone which can be accessed between 8:00 and 0:00 of your chosen server’s time.

Once you’re at the Mount Zavian zone, the Ancient Nightmare event will restart every two hours, so feel free to come back if there’s still a good amount of time to wait.

How To Complete Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare Zone Event

The main draw of the Ancient Nightmare zone event is the titular boss at the centre of it. To defeat this boss, however, you’re going to want to take a detour first to kill another challenging foe.

Lord Martanos is the boss you’re going to want to challenge first, as he holds the key to overcoming the Ancient Nightmare. To find him, head west of the Frozen Descent waypoint and his grave should be there. He can be activated and defeated on a 30-minute rolling basis to gain his item, so it is worth doing as many times as you can be bothered.

The item in question is the Zakarum Sigil, which allows you to activate the altars in the Ancient Nightmare’s area, stunning him and making him able to be attacked. You can activate the altars in the arena without a Zakarum Sigil, but each altar takes a minute to activate, which is very impractical to rely on in reality.

Once you’ve got your hands on enough Zakarum sigils, head over to the Misty Valley region and wait for the Ancient Nightmare to appear.

Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare: How To Beat Lord Martanos

Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare Boss Strategy

As alluded to earlier, the Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare boss, Lord Martanos, has a persistent shield around it that not only nullifies any incoming damage, but also sends out a high-damage AoE attack in the short surrounding radius.

That is where our Zakarum Sigils come in handy. Use the Sigil to activate the altars when the boss is near and it will stun them, leaving them open for attack. Use this consistently to break its shield, and then whittle down its health once the shield is gone.

Be warned however, as once the shield has been depleted, the boss will bring out it’s own attacks, so be ready to get out the way of some heavy hitters.

Once you’ve topped the tricky boss, a treasure chest will spawn containing a whole number of high tier loot. You are guaranteed a minimum of some enchanted dust - even if you join the fight super late.
