Have you ever wanted to go undercover and disguise yourself as a member of the AI forces in DMZ? Well, a brand-new DMZ Field Upgrade available in Season 05 allows you to do just that! Learn where to get and how to use disguises in DMZ Mode.

What do disguises do in DMZ?

Disguises are very useful in DMZ!

Disguises camouflage you as a member of the AI forces that occupy the local region, whether that be Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, or Vondel. You can use disguises to blend in with the Konni Group, the Cartel, or any faction in the surrounding area. You might even fool other Operators in the DMZ!

Disguises can be extremely useful in DMZ, especially if you tend to play the game Solo. Disguises allow you to avoid combat and, in turn, preserve ammo and armour. You can also use disguises to sneak into spots deep in enemy territory that would be a struggle to get to otherwise.

Where to get disguises in DMZ

Look for disguises in loot caches. caches, and duffle bags.

Disguises in DMZ are technically a Field Upgrade. You can find the Disguised Field Upgrade across Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and Vondel in loot caches and regular caches. In particular, it seems that disguises are most commonly stashed away in duffle bags.

How to use disguises in DMZ

You can freely equip and unequip disguises from your backpack.

To use a disguise, open your inventory and equip it from your backpack. With a disguise equipped, your peripheral vision will darken, signifying that you are now outfitted in the disguise.

While wearing a disguise, DMZ Combatants will not attack you - unless you blow your cover. Firing at foes while disguised will obviously reveal that you're sailing under false colours, but you will also break the disguise if you draw too much attention to yourself by doing things like jumping, sprinting, and breaking glass. And if you're trying to lay low, don't get too close to AI troops while disguised because they can sniff out imposters.

Disguising yourself is a prerequisite to completing the Deal with the Devil Mission for Shadow Company, so it's important to know where to get and how to use disguises in DMZ!
