How Long To Beat
If you're a console player, you'll want to know if PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live is a requirement for Diablo 4 - and the answer is pretty straightforward.
Diablo 4 is here, and many players are flooding into Sanctuary to experience the latest game in the franchise.
While many players are enjoying the game, there's a lot of discourse around the always online requirement and how it works. So, check out if you need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live for Diablo 4.
Do you need PlayStation Plus for Diablo 4?
Unfortunately, you will require a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to play Diablo 4. This is according to the game’s official page on the PlayStation Store. What this means is, because it is an online game, Diablo 4 is not playable at all unless you have PlayStation Plus.
There are three tiers of PlayStation Plus. Fortunately, you will only need the cheapest tier (PlayStation Plus Essential) to play the game online.
However, given that Diablo 4 is an online-only experience, it's impossible to play Diablo 4 without paying for PlayStation Plus. Players can't play the game offline, either, since the game must always be in contact with the Blizzard servers.
As such, it's best to factor in the cost of PlayStation Plus when purchasing Diablo 4 on PlayStation.
Do you need Xbox Live for Diablo 4?
Xbox is the same as PlayStation here, unfortunately, with Diablo 4 also requiring Xbox Live in order to play. Fortunately with Xbox, if you are a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, then you will have Xbox Live included as part of your subscription.
Just like on PlayStation, it's impossible to play Diablo 4 offline on Xbox platforms. So, if you want to play the game at all, it's essential to own an Xbox Live license.
Do you need to pay for Diablo 4 online services on PC?
No, Diablo 4 online services are completely free to use if you're playing on PC. This is a luxury that PC players are used to at this point, and that doesn't change with the release of Diablo 4.
If you own and play Diablo 4 on PC, then there are no additional charges to consider when playing online.
