Does MW2 Have Warzone?
Ahead of its November 16th release, Call of Duty players are preparing and training for Warzone 2.0’s launch. But if you’re curious to know how the game will launch, you may be happy to know it will be included in Modern Warfare 2. This means you will not have to download an existing client to play Warzone 2.0 when it drops.
In fact, you can already pre-install elements of Warzone 2.0 if you own Modern Warfare 2. For a lot of players, this will be included in the base installation, but if you want to double-check you have it installed, here’s how you do it on every platform:
PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
- Go to the Modern Warfare 2 tile.
- Press the Start button.
- Select Manage Game Content.
- Check if Warzone 2.0 is installed. If not, install it through here.
Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S
- Go to My Games and Apps.
- Go to the Modern Warfare 2 tile.
- Press the Start button.
- Select Manage Game & Add-ons.
- Ensure Warzone 2.0 is ticked to install it.
PC
For Battle.net users, Warzone 2.0 should already be installed when downloading Modern Warfare 2, however, Steam users can check by doing the following:
- Go to your Steam library.
- Go to the Modern Warfare 2 title.
- Right-click the tile.
- Click Properties.
- Find Warzone 2.0 and ensure it is ticked.
It’s also important to note that the original Warzone is not part of Modern Warfare 2, so if you’re still checking out that game, do not delete the client. For everyone else, it’s only a few more weeks until Warzone 2.0 launches as part of Modern Warfare 2. Be prepared for some hefty updates between now and then.
- For users on the other console platform, you can also find out if Modern Warfare 2 requires PlayStation Plus to play it online.
